There's Kayla character thing! She might seem minor now but will come into play later :)

Emily

The girl had vines spiraling from behind her in all directions. I wasn't sure whose side she was on. She had a villain like suit but the man she was strangling was most likely the bank robber so I imagined she was trying to help. She wore a green mask, green leather jacket, black leggings, pink combat boots, black leather gloves, and had a pink utility belt around her waist. Curly brown hair cascaded down the front of her. Man, she looked way cooler than me.

"Stop! Let him go!" Startled, she turned to me still using her powers with one hand holding him secure.

"Why?! The cops have been after him for months after he killed five innocent people during an armed robbery. I found him and he seriously doesn't deserve to live." She sounded very relaxed even though she was currently trying to kill him. "So if you'll just back off I'll continue serving justice."

The man's face was no longer red but blueish white. He was going to die if I didn't act fast. My light sliced through vines and stems. They all fell to the ground. I picked one up and tied the coughing man's hands behind his back. I️ turned around about to spew a snarky remark but, she was gone.

Lucas

Beep beep beep! Beep beep- I️ smacked the top of my alarm clock. I️ groaned as I realized that it was no longer break. Then I️ imagined seeing the everlasting grin that would appear on Emily's face as she saw me leaning against our tree waiting for her. Plus, I knew she'd be extra happy since it was my birthday. As long as I️ saw that smile, I️ realized I️ could make it through the day. I️ swung my feet out of bed and turning on my TV in the process.

As I️ stood in front of my closet I️ remembered the problem I've been avoiding. That I️ was no longer short, skinny Lucas. I️ found my baggiest sweatshirt, which was weird to be wearing to school instead of some type of button up shirt. I️ figured that would be fine.

There she was, walking towards me, a grin on her face just as I️ expected, "Happy birthday!" She excitedly pulled me into a hug.

I️ tried giving a smile back but I️ was still worried about people getting suspicious about my changes to be excited about my birthday.

"Today will be fine," She reassured me. "I️ doubt anyone will notice." I applied this to both situations, my birthday included. But I knew Emily would be the only one who knew what day it was. Just as she said that a guy from our Chemistry class passed us.

"Woah Lucas did you get taller?" He stopped to inspect my height. I️ stuttered trying to answer.

"Uhhh no...?" I️ tried. Emily bit her lip attempting not to laugh. The guy shrugged and kept walking. I️ turned to Emily who immediately started laughing. After seeing the scowl on my face she stopped.

"Sorry. I️ doubt anyone one else will notice." She said, but I️ didn't believe her. Then with a shrug from me, we headed towards the school.

I️ made it through first period without anyone really noticing. I️ did see a few people look at me funny but then dismiss it. Then I️ remembered, next I️ had gym. Doesn't sound like that big of a deal right? Wrong. I️ would have to first, change my shirt in front of all the guys. Then, wear a short sleeve shirt with all the girls too. So basically there was no hiding.

I️ walked as slowly as possible to the gym. In my head I️ imagined things to say when they asked. I've been working out. No that would be impossible. Steroids. Even if anyone believed it they don't work that fast. So basically neither scenario makes sense nor is believable. I️ exhaled before walking into the locker room.
