Chapter 8: Signed Contract

Mira's POV

After three days of staying in the Villa, dumiretso kaagad ako sa hotel ni Patrick to continue my job. But I brought Ken with me. I told him to stay in my suite while I do the talking to Patrick.

"You finally showed up after being gone for days?" bungad ni Patrick when I entered his office

"Yeah. My parents were here so I have to welcome and accompany them. Hinayaan naman nila akong umalis para tapusin ang trabaho ko."

"And that is getting my signature on the contract, isn't it?"

"Yes. So, do you want to ask questions or you want me to explain anything further to you?" I asked as I take my seat on the couch

"No. Malinaw naman na sa'kin lahat e, but I have another proposal for you."

"Okay, let's hear it."

"You once told me that you would do anything just to get me signed on the contract, isn't it?"

"Hmm. I remember that. May idadagdag ka?"

"Yeah." umupo siya, katapat ko with a mysterious smile on his face.

"What's with that face?" alangan kong tanong

"Wala lang. Anyway, this is my proposal. After I get to sign the contract, I want you to stay here for atleast, maybe six months?"

Nanlamig ako sa sinabi niya. What the hell did he just say?! Stay?!

"I beg your pardon, can you be more specific?"

"Sabi ko, pagkatapos kong pirmahan ang kontrata, gusto kong mag-stay ka muna dito sa Pilipinas kahit six months lang."

"Tinagalog mo lang e. I mean, what for? Why do I need to stay?"

"It's just I find it inappopriate na iwan mo kaagad ang trinabaho mo? Diba?" behind those smiles, I know there are other reason why he is making this up.

"And what would I do in that six months? I would be your secretary?"

"Nah. I have plenty of secretaries from different department. I don't need another one."

"Then, why would I stay? Kahit naman iwan ko ang project na 'to dito, as long as you signed the contract, the project will proceed. Why?"

Napa-iling na lang siya. With that action, I already know that I got him. He has a hidden agenda behind this proposal of him.

"To be specific Mira, I'm giving my good friends a big favor."

"Favor. And what favor is that?"

"I already know what happened when you left us at the casino. You already met him, right?"

"So all this time, you knew that he was here?" ba't hindi man lang niya sinabi?! I should've been prepared.

"Not only me, the couple too and Owen."

"Owen? The other guy in your office last time?"

"Yeah. He's a dude that Xander brought with him from London."

Bigla kong naalala yung sinabi niya nang huli kaming mag-kausap sa phone,

"Driking the hell out of me, going out with a cool bro and maybe doing some illegal shts",

"Nah, he's great. He's a filipino too. And like me, he was also sent by his parents here for some reasons. We were really a great buds together."
