Chapter 39: The Wound

Xander's POV

I groaned hard as I woke up. I kept on hearing something ringing on my ear. Another thing that woke me up were the chirping birds outside. I slowly opened my eyes and my sight were welcome to the sight of a cliff. Dahan-dahan kong inikot ang paningin ko at nakita kong nasa loob ako ng sasakyan ko. Looking at the sun, it looked like it was it was just risen.

"Fvck!" I exclaimed as I tried to move.

Dahan-dahan kong hinawakan ang gilid ng ulo ko at napa-igik sa hapdi. Tinignan ko ang kamay ko at may bahid pa ng natuyong dugo. Napa-hinga ako nang malalim. Tangina! Buhay pa 'ko.

Mabilis kong inabot ang phone sa passenger seat. I switched it open and I immediately received tons of notifications and messages. Bubuksan ko pa lang sana ang isang message nang biglang may tumawag. It is Owen.

I cleared my throat as I answered it, "H-Hello?"

["Godamnit Xander! Where the hell are you?!"]

I roamed my sight around and saw nothing but a clear road. Bundok na ata 'to, hindi ko alam. My car's parked beside the road, and on my other side is a cliff.

"I c-can only see cliff. Hindi ko a-alam kung nasan ako."

["Let me trace you. Tangina Xander, dalawang araw ka nang nawawala!"]

Mabilis akong nag-taka sa sinabi niya, "A-Ano?"

["I'm going to get your loc. Don't fvcking move! Keep your phone open!"] he said and dropped the call. Magang-maga, pinapa-almusalan ako ng mura ng hayop. Teka, dalawang araw? How the hell I was staying here for two days?

While waiting for Owen to arrive, I tried to read the messages that I received. They were all asking where I was but my Mom's text got my attention the most.

'Gising na si Mira anak. Asan ka na ba? We need you here!'

Mabilis na sumigid ang sakit sa ulo ko nang matapos kong basahin ang text ni Mama. I kept hearing ringing sounds inside my ear and that shit hurts so bad. Kung pwede ko lang paliparin ang sasakyan ko papunta sa ospital, ginawa ko na. Pero sa sitwasyon ko ngayon, baka tuluyan na 'kong di makarating na buhay sa ospital.

Wait for me, Mira.

Sumakit ulit ang ulo ko nang maalala ko ulit ang nangyari kung bakit ganito ako ngayon.

If the sound of the gunshot wasn't enough to burst my eardrum, I'm a definite survivor. Hindi maipaliwanag ang sakit sa ulo ko matapos akong barilin ni Zedric. That knocked me off of my footing and brought me to the ground. I tried to look back to Zedric as fast as I can when I saw him still pointing the gun towards me. But it was shot off of his hand and I heard his shriek of pain.

"Kareo tsuretekoi." I heard Ken said as he went to my place.

"H-Hindi pa k-ko tapos!" I managed to say to him.

"Gusto mo bang patayin ang sarili mo?!"

Humawak ako sa tuhod niya at saka dahan-dahang tumayo. Sinubukan kong habulin ang mga tauhan niya pero hinatak niya ulit ako.

"Ano ba!"

"You're done with him."

"No!"
