Xander's POV
I was holding Mira's hand when a nurse entered the room, "Time of visitation is already over sir."
For the last time, I held tightly on her hand, "Gumising ka na please. I want to go back to those times where I can be with you without any limitations. Please babe, please..."
I planted a kiss on her hand saka dahan-dahan kong nilapag sa gilid niya.
I spent the visiting hours of feeling her body's warmth and pulse which I couldn't feel before when I pulled her out of the pit. I even fell asleep while holding her hand. 2-3 hours of visit are extremely short and I hate it. But I had to abide. For my wife's sake.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Xander, nandito yung mga magulang ko. At balak nilang kunin si Mira." nanginginig na sabi sa'kin ni Ate.
"Not a chance." I can only mutter.
"I'll go talk to them first. Dito ka lang. 'Wag mong iwan si Mira."
I nodded at her as she told Claire to go to her parents.
I fished out my phone to give the security a heads up. I also sent a text to Ken to let him know what's happening. Few minutes later, I can hear from distance na nag-kakagulo na ang mga tao sa unahan ng hallway. The voices were already approaching my place when I can clearly hear what they said.
"Enough of this Dad! Please!! Let Mira go!!!" I heard Ate Mina pleads.
Then the sight of my wife's adoptive parents appeared before my sight. The remaining security kept them from coming to my place.
"Let me see my daughter!" the older man spoke as he glared me.
I bowed at him, "Good afternoon sir." I politely said.
"Give me my daughter or else!"
"Or else what? What else can you do that's worth my wife's life?"
"Wife?!"
I sarcastically chuckled. They may share the same bracket age of my parents but I really can't give them respect right now. And I know my wife herself will hate me for this but the fact that they sold their daughter through marriage kept on haunting my mind. I can't forgive them now. I don't know when I'll do either.
"As her husband, I think I have the right to control the people who can only see her."
His wife stepped forward and apologetically looked at me, "Xander, ijo. Hayaan mo sana kaming makita si Mira. Gusto lang namin makita ang lagay niya."
"Hindi niyo gugustuhing makita ang lagay niya." I softened the way I talked when I answered her. I had good interactions with her before.
"Ijo..."
I tried to put a brave face infront of them but when I remembered Mira being buried, a tear escaped my eye, "I've seen worst. Yung lalaking gusto niyong ipakasal sa kanya? Siya rin ang may dahilan kung bakit tayo nasa ospital ngayon."
