Mira's POV

It's been two days mag-mula nang mag-stay kami dito sa La Union. Dinagdagan din kasi ni Ate ang trabaho ko. Alamin ko rin daw ang sales ng farm lang. Big percentage kasi ng kinikita ng farm, napupunta sa mga nag-ta-trabaho. Gusto niyang makita kung paano pa 'to masu-solusyan, dahil baka mag-karoon ng problema kapag naipa-tayo na ang local factory.

Nandito ako sa loob ng kwarto namin at busy na gumagawa ng data para sa mga nakuha kong info. Ibibigay kay Ate pag-balik namin.

As I was busy doing my own business, Patrick entered the room with a phone on his ear, "Yeah. Nasa La Union ako.... No need, aalis na 'ko ngayon.... Reschedule my two other meetings, mas importante yan.... Okay."

Nakita kong dumiretso siya ng kuha ng luggage niya at nag-simulang mag-empake.

"Aalis ka na?" I asked

He nodded, "Yeah. Something came up and I need to be there."

"Sounds like urgent."

"Yeah. Some bullshts made a drug dealing sht in my bar. I need to be there for investigation."

"Ingat ka."

"I will." he said as he continued to pack his things.

Few seconds later, Xander entered the room, "I heard the news. Is it true?" he asked

Patrick exhaled, "Unfortunately, yes. Kailangan kong bumalik kaagad."

"You should. Medyo mahaba haba pa byahe mo." - Xander

"Speaking of which, iiwan ko muna sayo yung kotse. Ikaw na munang bahala."

"Pano ka uuwi?" I asked

"I sent a chopper to fetch me here. 4-hour trip is such a waste of time."

As if on cue, may narinig kaming tunog ng chopper, di kalayuan sa bahay. There is a wide space there where the chopper can land and I think nandun na yun.

Nakita kong ibinigay ni Patrick ang susi kay Xander. Tinanguan niya lang kami bago siya lumabas ng kwarto. Sinundan naman siya ni Xander. Ihahatid lang daw.

Mabilis kong tinapos ang ginagawa ko at sinave. Pagkatapos, sumunod ako sa labas para tignan sila Patrick.

But before I could even come to their place, lumipad na ang chopper palayo. Kaya naman sinalubong ko si Xander na pabalik na sa bahay.

"He was really in hurry." sabi ko

"Oo nga e. Importante din kasi yun."

Sinabayan ko siya ng lakad pabalik sa bahay, "I never thought that Patrick would be this serious to his business."

"Yan lang naman ang siniseryoso niya e." natatawa niyang sabi

"Oo nga naman."

"Bukod sa kapatid niya, his hotel is the only thing that matters to him. Kung wala kasi yan, he would be nothing too."

"What do you mean by that?"

He sighed before speaking, "Alam mo naman na siguro na pinalitan niya ang pangalan niya. Well, not totally change pero dinagdagan lang."

"Why did he do that?"

"Things happen and his parents disowned him."

I gaped at what he said. Alam ko, noon pa man, may issue na si Patrick sa Dad niya. Lagi kasi siyang nagrerebelde sa Daddy niya. And I still can remember it clear that he has his Mom as his back-up. Lagi siyang ipinagtatanggol nun sa Daddy niya. Now, why would his parents totally disown him?
