Chapter 44: Decision

Mira's POV

"I am in this narrow, dark place. Both my hands and mouth were tied up. I can't move..." parang kinakapos ulit ako sa hininga nang maalala kong nawawalan na ako ng hangin non, "I am suffocating already but I can't escape."

There were a set of doctors having their check up on me after I woke up with my memories again. They were asking what the things were, especially the last one I remembered before succumbing to unconsciousness. The doctor nods and writes down something as I glance to my side where my sister is. She was giving a smile of relief as she held my hand.

"Can you remember any other events before your last breath?"

I mulled into my brain for my answer, "I saw my sister shackled up in her room. Y-Yung mga kasama namin sa bahay, they were held hostage... and... and..." napa-pikit ako nang maalala kong binaril ni Zedric yung dalawa naming kasama, "I saw him killed two people." my lips were shaking badly.

"Him? Who's him?"

"Zedric. My ex-fiance." I breathlessly said.

The doctor nodded as he proceeded to do some physical examinations on me once again, "Can you any ringing?"

I shook my head.

"Headache?"

"Kanina lang, nung magising ako."

"You may continue to experience headache as you may remember more memories. If such happen, you should immediately take a rest."

Tumango ako sa sinabi niya. Lumingon naman siya kila Ate at Owen, "Her memories may still be hazy as of this moment." Saglit siyang tumingin sa'kin, "You might want to ask her few questions, so we called know until which extent of her memories came back."

"Yes doc." Sagot ni Ate.

Matapos magsabi ng ilan pang paalala nung doktor, umalis din kaagad sila. Napunta ang atensyon ko kay Ate.

"Hanggang saan ang naaalala mo?" tanong niya sa'kin.

"Lahat, Ate... L-Lahat..."

Hinaplos niya ako sa mukha, "I'm glad to have you back."

I drew her closer to hug her. I can't help but to cry as I realized something. Ngayon nakakaalala na 'ko, mas lalo kong pinagsisisihan yung mga pinaggagawa at pinagsasabi ko noong mga nakaraang araw.

"I'm sorry, A-Ate... Wala na 'kong ibang g-ginawa kundi bigyan ka ng sakit sa ulo." Naiiyak kong sabi.

"Shh. That only shows you're still Mira. With or without memories."

Kahit umiiyak ako, mahina akong natawa sa sinabi niya. Humiwalay ako sa yakap niya at tumingin kay Owen, "Thank you..."

"Hindi mo pa rin naman siguro nakakalimutan yung mga pinag-usapan natin?" paninigurado niya.

Naka-ngiti akong tumango.

"Now, that's the reason why you guys were together since the other day?" tanong ni Ate.

"He's just helping me to get back my memories, Ate." I finally confessed.

"What?!" mabilis na lumipad ang tingin niya sa Owen, "Sabi nga ni Xander diba—"

"I only told her about the incident. No more than that. I still know my place." Sagot ni Owen.

"Yun ba yung si Xander lang ang may karapatan na sabihin sa'kin?" tanong ko.
