reader pov
"hey whats going on over there?" my friend Jake said, pointing at a group of people in a circle, i shrugged "i don't know but its not our problem" i said, until i heard a small yelp of pain, i looked back over at the group and saw that they were trapping a girl, she had her back pressed against a wall, i stood up and ran over towards them.
"what do you think your doing!" i yelled, they all turned around and their eyes widened immediately, "shit its y/n!" they all yelled before scattering, i looked down at the girl that was being bullied and saw that she was crying and she was curled up in a ball, i touched her shoulder and she jumped slightly "please no more!!" she said and slunk farther away.
I barely know this girl and she's already breaking my heart. "Hey, i'm not going to hurt you" i said softly in a soothing voice, she slowly looked up at me and i finally got a look at her. She had hypnotic purple eyes, that were currently glossed over with tears, she had a big white sweater that barely fit her and was sliding off her shoulder. But what really caught my eye was that she had on a collar and protruding from her head were....cat ears?
i looked at them a little confused. She must have saw the look on my face since she decided to speak up "i'm a kitsune" (thats what their called right?) she said with a shaky breath "i was apart of a experiment and this happened" she pointed at her ears and a tail emerged from behind her "is that why those people were picking on you?" i asked, she nodded and her ears flattened on her head "and because i'm a stray, i have nowhere to live" i looked up at her in shock, i saw that she was going to start crying again "how about i take you in?" i asked shocking myself with my sudden outburst. I guess i shocked her too since she looked at me in shock before she shook her head furiously "no, i don't want to be a burden for you" she said, i chuckled softly and shook my head.
"You wont be a burden, i promise, please? i can't see such a cute thing on the street" she blushed when i said that after a few seconds of her thinking she finally nodded, i smiled and stood up "well, i'll show you where i live" i said and started to walk away only for her to yell "wait!" i turned around to see her holding her collar out towards me with a blush on her face "y-you need to walk me home" she mumbled, her blush getting darker and darker by the second, i shook my head "i wont do that, it's not right, but i will do something else" i said making her a little confused.
i walked over to her and intertwined our fingers together "all good?" i asked looking at her, she opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out so she snapped her mouth shut and nodded. I smiled and tugged her along towards my -our- house. "So what's your name?" i asked, she seemed to jump at the sudden noise "it's Emily" she said in a small voice. i smiled Emily, thats a cute name.
