Finally, Han said "Okay. You guys got yourself a ship. We'll leave as soon as you're ready. Docking bay Ninety-four."

Once they were on the Falcon, Obi wan decided to start teaching Luke the use of the Force, so he could continue the Legacy of the Jedi. They started by Luke trying to deflect blasts from a remote with his new lightsaber.

Obi wan told Luke "Remember, a Jedi can feel the Force flowing through him."

"You mean it controls your actions?" asked Luke.

"Partially, but it also obeys your commands." replied Obi wan.

Obi wan watched Luke getting frustrated after missing the bolts and getting zapped.

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid." Han scoffed.

"You don't believe in the Force, do you?" asked Luke.

"Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny. Anyway, it's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense." Stated Han.

"I suggest you try it again, Luke. Only this time, let go your conscious self and act on instinct." said Obi wan, while placing a helmet over Luke's head.

"But with the blast shield down, I can't even see! How am I supposed to fight?" complained Luke.

"Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them. Stretch out with your feelings! You see? You can do it." encouraged Obi Wan, while watching him fail then succeed.

"I call it luck." Scoffed Han.

"In my experience, there is no such thing as luck." said Obi wan.

After that Luke returned to his exercises, and Obi wan watched his improvement with satisfaction. Suddenly, Obi wan staggered in pain, feeling a huge flash of darkness in the force of millions of people dying all at once. Luke came over and asked "are you alright?"

Feeling overwhelming sadness he said "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened." he replied, feeling a fear for Bail and all of Alderaan.

Han and Chewbacca went to the cockpit for landing, and Luke followed shortly after. He could vaguely hear them.

"What the-? Our position is correct, except... no, Alderaan!" Han exclaimed.
"What do you mean? Where is it?" questioned Luke.

Han said "That's what I'm trying to tell you kid. It ain't there. It's been totally blown away."

"What? How?" Luke exclaimed.
Obi wan came in and said " Destroyed... by the Empire!"

Bail, poor, kind Bail. If I had only been there sooner...
Han responded "The entire starfleet couldn't destroy the whole planet. It'd take a thousand ships with more firepower than I've-"
An alarm started blaring, and a light blinking.

Han said "There's another ship coming in."

" Maybe they know what happened." Luke hoped.
"It's an Imperial fighter." said Obi wan.
The Tie fighter started attacking them.
"It followed us!" said Luke, probably thinking of the imperials that followed them out of Tatooine.
"No. It's a short range fighter." reasoned Obi wan.
"There aren't any bases around here. Where did it come from?" asked Han.
It sure is leaving in a big hurry. If they identify us, we're in big trouble." said Luke.
Han said "Not if I can help it. Chewie...jam it's transmissions."
Obi wan replied "It'd be as well to let it go. It's too far out of range."

They decided together that the fighter must have gotten lost from its convoy. But before they made a decision about what to do about it, it flew away.

They see a distant star that can be distinguished as a small moon or
               planet
Obi wan heard Luke say " Look at him. He's headed for that small moon."
Han said "I think I can get him before he gets there... he's almost in range"

Obi wan wasn't really listening. He was immersed in grief in grief for all of the lost lives, especially Bail's. He was jolted back to attention when the moon took shape as a spherical space station, with a huge circular indentation in its side!

Obi wan said "That's no moon! It's a space station."

Han said in amazement "It's too big to be a space station."                   Luke said with foreboding, "I have a very bad feeling about this."That's trusting your feelings, Luke. I do too.                         Han said "Yeah, I think your right. Full  reverse! Chewie, lock in the auxiliary power."                         "Why are we still moving towards it?" asked Luke in fright.    "We're caught in a tractor beam! It's pulling us in!" Han realized.
