Satine must have fallen asleep because when she woke, she was no longer at Obi wan's bedside. She was in her bed in her apartment. One of her friends must have brought her. She commed Padme and when her friend picked up she instantly said Obi wan was fine. They had moved her because they thought she needed rest. She agreed. Ever since Obi wan's original injury she hadn't been sleeping well. She had had dreams and nightmares or couldn't fall asleep becasue she was worrying. She thanked Padme and said she was going to visit Obi wan. Padme replied that Anakin was there now and would be happy to switch with her. Satine nodded then ended the transmission. She dressed than drove her speeder to the Med Center.
She switched with Anakin, nodding her thanks to him before he left. It was kind of him to stay up all night watching over Obi wan. She took her customary seat and looked at Obi wan. He was still sleeping but most of the pain was gone from his face. When she took his hand, his fingers curled around hers. His eyelids twitched but did not open. She put a hand on his shoulder and he shifted. Carefully, she said his name. He moved again. It was as if he were on the verge of awakening but was unable too. She tried again. "Obi wan? can you hear me?"
"Yes." He whispered in a voice so weak she could barely hear.
She was overjoyed. "Can you open your eyes?"
"No." He answered, his voice still weak.
"Do you know who I am?" She asked, afraid of the answer.
"Satine." He mumbled. She smiled in relief. He knew who she was. His memory was intact even if his body was not.
He tried to turn towards her and cried out. She put a restraining hand on his shoulder and said "No, Obi wan, don't move, not yet." He didn't answer. He had passed out from pain. She looked at the monitors and saw nothing different. She pulled out a datapad and prepared for a long day of waiting

That night, Anakin fell asleep almost instantly. He had had a sleepless night watching over Obi wan the day before. He was concerned about his friend. It seemed like he couldn't catch a break. Who would attack him while he was in the hospital? All the footage showed was a hooded figure walking towards Obi wan's room and then they all cut out.
Anakin dreamed he was back on Mustafar, Obi wan was looking down at Anakin from the mound of rock. there was pain in the eyes of his former master. "Anakin, don't try it." He warned.
"You underestimate my power." Replied Vader. He jumped. His lightsaber caught Obi wan in the chest and he fell into the lava. Vader collapsed to his knees, his eyes flickering from yellow to blue. Desperately, he reached out with the Force, trying to save his master. It was to late. Obi wan was dead in his arms.
Anakin awoke with a start, sweating. Padme was still asleep beside him. He got up, careful not to wake her and went out to the balcony. He stood there in the predawn light and looked out at the beautiful Valley. Everything looked so peaceful, like nothing was wrong. Anakin knew better. Out there somewhere was the man who had tried to murder Obi wan. He needed to find him so he couldn't try again!
A warm hand on his shoulder shook him out of his thoughts. He turned and saw Padme, beautiful as ever, even in a nightdress. He thanked the Force again that she had forgiven him and given him a chance to try again.
"How do you always know?" He asked her. She smiled. "Call it my Anakin Sense. Now, what's wrong?"
He sighed. "I had a strange dream. It almost felt like one of my old Force Visions."
"What was it about?" Padme asked.
He related the specifics and she frowned. "do you think this is more than mere worry about Obi wan overflowing into your dreams? Do you feel responsible because you weren't there to stop the assassin?"
"I do feel responsible for not being there. I need to find whoever did this to Obi wan so he can't try again."
Padme nodded. "I understand that, but please just don't go looking for vengeance. We know where that will lead."
Anakin shuddered. He saw black armor and a red lightsaber. they did know where that path would lead. He nodded at her. He would begin in the morning.
