When the screen flickered out, Qui gon was looking at him but Obi wan shook his head. "Trouble in the galaxy."
Qui gon nodded then looked out the room's single window. He gasped, Obi wan looked. A dark cloud covered the sky, plants withered, and people outside collapsed. He felt Qui gon reach out through the Force too the cloud of darkness then he collapsed. Obi wan closed himself off from the Force painfully then rushed to his old mentor.
Qui gon was out cold, breathing shallowly, unresponsive. He grabbed one of the hover-grav carts usually used for parts and loaded his friend on it. He called Anakin on his com link and told him to meet him in the lobby. He got an affirmative and rushed out of the room.
In the lobby, he met Anakin who looked at Qui gon with shock. Obi wan said "don't use the Force, Anakin, it has been poisoned. Ha be you looked outside?" Anakin shook his head numbly. "My room has no window." Obi wan nodded and tilted his head. "Come one, let's go to the Med Center." Anakin nodded.
They rushed out and looked at the scene. The beautiful Valley had been decimated by Dark energy and everything was effected. People were collapsed on the ground, in the streets, everywhere. Plants and organic life-forms were withered and dead. Familiar blue lightning flickered in the cloud, and when it struck, anything it hit felt the effects of the Dark side lightning.
They rushed quickly to the Med Center and found it full. There are victims everywhere. Qui gon began to shake and quiver. He began muttering incoherently and shaking his head. His face twisted. This was bad. He ran over to a stressed looking nurse and offered her Qui gon's stretcher. She nodded tersely and pointed him towards the door. The message was clear: I'm busy. If you're not sick, get out.
He nodded and gestured for Anakin to follow. They went to the mechanics storage house and closed the door quickly once they were safely inside.
"We need to stop this-this Darkness Plague!" Obi wan said.
"I wouldn't call it a plague. It's more of a storm." Anakin chuckled.
"What about this is funny, exactly?" Asked Obi wan, indignantly.
"Oh, only the irony. Don't you see it? Storm that infects people, have to hide from it, need some damotite powered shield?"
"Oh, Lanteeb. You're right, I see the similarities. Do you think a shield would work?" Asked Obi wan.
"not in this case. The storm is already here. We should find some help. Satine's the Librarioan, right? She may have an idea." Said Anakin explained.
Obi wan nodded. They went off to the library.

Outside the library the people who weren't instantly effected were swarming in unorganized chaos towards shelter. The black cloud was releasing dark smoke that swirled around people, and dark, viscous, poisonous drops of darkness began to fall like rain. Wherever these drops hit the dark side twisted and mutated. Obi wan and Anakin watched in horror from the view port. They were safe inside the building but despite being closed from the Force they could feel the waves of darkness bludgeoning at their defenses, trying to get them to submit.
Obi wan snapped out of his shock, trying to not see the similarities between this storm and the device on the sixth planet Zigoola that had tried to destroy him. He ran over to the librarian's desk and found Satine slumped in her chair in the same state as Qui gon. She must not have closed herself off in time or Because of not being a Jedi she may never have learned how. He turned to Anakin.
"Can you rig the speaker system to link to all the others. We need to warn everyone we can." He asked Anakin.
Anakin nodded, biting his lip. He gave Obi wan one last look than ran off to the control room.
Obi wan turned his full attention to Satine. She limp now. No muttering, only her face contorted in pain. He placed a hand on her forehead and directed all of the Light Side he could into her. Just when he was about to give up her eyes fluttered open. She looked around and asked "What happened?"
Obi wan leaned back against the desk, exhausted, and answered "there is some kind of dark storm that is infecting all thongs containing Light Side energy. People, plants, this whole world is under siege. People can become infected by the physical storm or reaching out with the Force to probe it. You were infected. I managed to heal you. I don't know how long it'll last."
Satine sat up straight and looked him over. She raised a disapproving eyebrow. "Obi wan, no you've exhausted yourself. How are you going to save everyone if you can't even stand?" Her eyes were filled with worry.
Obi wan straitened himself and shook his head. "I couldn't leave you that way. Not again." Understanding took the place of the worry in her eyes, then a tinge of sadness came. "Obi wan, my death was not your fault! Maul was a phycopathic monster who would have killed me anyway. I don't blame you and you shouldn't blame yourself."
Obi wan looked her straight in the eyes and she saw for the first time what her death had done. It had shattered him and he hadn't been able to mourn because of the stupid Jedi code. After her death his order was destroyed, his best fried fell to the Dark side, and he was left alone with the responsibility to protect the galaxy's only hope. He had been broken, badly. He had contained in within himself, hiding it from even Anakin, his closest friend. And now that he was here, with her, he had no idea what to do. She did, she leaned in and kissed him.
