BRIAN CAMPBELL - Computer Geek

"So why don't you talk to him?" Laila asked.

Tessa came over and dumped a couple guitar cords on top of my amp. "Because she hates the looks she gets when she does." She answered for me. We've been friends forever, our group, but I only tell secrets to Tessa. I mean, I don't care if the rest of them know, but Tessa is always the first to know.

Tessa walked away, "Why does she get looks?" Laila called after her.

"Because the crazy girls act like I shouldn't act casual around their idol." I responded.

"But it's not acting, you guys are friends." Laila truly did not get this.

I put my hands together, then stuck my index finger out. The way some smart people do. "Ah, correction, WERE friends."

"Girls, let's get this over with." Brian said. We assembled into our positions. "Drums, Carter."

"All good." Carter replied.

"Laila on keys."

"Mmhhmm." She sounded.

"Kira, our bassist."

"All set." Kira said.

"Chase and Syd on their guitars."

We both answered.

"Plugged in this time, Chase?"

"Yeah, dude."

"Okay, Tes's voice." Brian listed finally.

"Ready to go." Tessa responded.

"Let's go." Brian finalized. We were doing a cover today of "We Are Young" by Fun. We really don't have...any of...our...own songs, yet. Anyways....

Brian turned on the camera and signaled us to start. Carter started the rhythm. Laila pressed her keys, and Tessa started singing.

"Give me a second I need to get my stories straight. My friends are in the bathroom, getting higher than the Empire State..."

At some point Chase, Kira, and me joined. Ah, the lovely music in our band room. We had our own room, because we claimed to be a "club". We had bean bags and cushions. The janitor sound proofed the room. He's really nice to us.

Half-way through the song, "You have the audicity to talk to him." You could probably guess who said that.

"Oh, my God." I said. "It was four freaking words. I didn't even say it."

She marched up to me. "You didn't stop it."

"Stop what? From people having a conversation?" I asked.

"Yeeesss." Naomi said.

"You are stupid." I mumbled.

You can tell when she has nothing to say, because she walks away.

"Well, that was refreshing," Carter said.
