ALANA TAYLOR - Annoying Little Sister
***
I sat on my bed, trying to process what had happened this afternoon. I looked at the clock. It was 9:17 PM. I let out a small laugh. I did like him.
My phone began to ring. When I answered, two voices came up. "How could you not tell me?" Aren't conference calls great?
"Tessa? Laila?" I guessed.
A third voice came, "I'm here, too." Kira.
"Did you tell them?" I asked.
"Was I not supposed to?" She replied.
I was silent. "So are they?" asked Tessa.
"What?"
"Are Naomi and Luke dating?"
I was a bit happy about the answer. "No."
There were squeals on the other line. "He's still on the market?" Laila said. I wasn't quite sure if that was a question, I answered, anyways.
"I wouldn't say that. He has a potential girlfriend." The squealing stopped.
My door opened. "Who?" Laila asked on the phone.
"Hold on." I said and put it down. I turned towards the door. "Alana?"
She came into my room. "Can I talk to you?" She asked.
I nodded. Then I spoke into the phone. "Guys, I gotta go. I can tell you tomorrow." I turned to Alana despite the protests of my friends. "What is it?"
"Well, me and Mackenzie aren't friends anymore." she said. Her face was sad.
I motioned for her to sit down on my bed with me. "Why?" I asked.
"Well, because she is being so stubborn. We've been argueing so much lately." replied Alana.
"Al, the arguements can't be that bad. You guys have been friends for a long time. You can compromise." I suggested. "You can work this out, I'm sure. You are Alana and Mackenzie. Best friends forever." She just nodded. "How about I take you to her house tomorrow?"
She smiled at me. That means I'm a good sister.
