KIRA GRANT - Goth

"Hey Syd," Kira said. I just nodded to her. "Wow, serious sadness. What's up?"
"No, it's my problem. I can deal with it." I replied.
"No, tell me." she faked begged.
I sighed, beaten. I kinda wanted to tell somebody, anyways. Then again Carter kinda knew. I did say "I don't know". "Okay, but keep it a secret until I tell Tessa." Kira nodded.
I thought about how to word my thoughts, until she nudged me. "I think... I like... Luke."
"That's a problem? Half the girls in the school do." Kira reacted.
I looked up at her. "No, but this is me. I don't talk to him. Plus, he and Naomi are going out."
She shifted positions, "Where'd you get that impression? Y'know Naomi is crazy."
I nodded. "Just ask Carter, he knows."
"Ah, but I asked you to tell me." persisted Kira.
I rolled my eyes. She is always like this. "Fine, I skipped last period, last Friday. I saw them, on the bleechers."
Kira sat there, thinking. "Well, for all we know, Naomi might have forced him into it."
"Yeah," I didn't really believe that.

The halls were empty as it usually is after band practice. The only sound were footsteps. Ugh, I hate silence.
The silence was broken, thankfully, by a door closing. I looked behind me. I mentally sighed and physically rolled my eyes.
"Sydney," His voice said. Luke. Be strong Sydney, I thought.I just waved. Luke caught up with me. "Still giving the silent trestment? No one's here."
"No, I was just thinking about something." I replied.
He fell into step with me. "Is it something I can help with?" Oh, he was so nice.
I shook my head, then paused. "Actually, I have a question. How's Naomi?"
"What? How am I supposed to know that?" He said, a hint of annoyance in his voice. He stopped walking, but I went on. That is until he grabbed my arm.
I tried shrugging him off, but the guy plays football. He had a tight grip on my wrist. "What?" I said through gritted teeth.
He let go, "What is with you guys?" Luke asked.
"Are you saying that I didn't see you? That I could be going out of my mind?" I started getting louder.
"You're certainly sounding like it." He said, calmly but kiddingly.
I started walking away. I was seriously tired of explaining this story.
