TESSA MOORE - Sport Chic, Freakishly Strong.

***

"You're seriously going?" Tessa asked. "If you do, can I come?

"Uh, yes, and sure." I said flatly.

I opened the door to my car and Tessa sat in the passenger's seat. I drove out of Westside's parking lot to Luke's driveway. "Man, this house looks bigger." Luke lived in a mansion. He's dad ran some giant business. "Ok, Tes, try to act normal."

She looked at me. "What are you talking about? I act completely normal."

I laughed as we walked up to the door. Tessa rang the doorbell. She was so freaking giddy. I signaled for her to calm down. She did for about .5 seconds.

Luke answered the door. "Hey, Tessa?"

"Heeey, Luke." She said dizzily. I mentally face palmed myself.

"Hi Luke." I said.

"Oh, good. Syd. What's wrong with Tes?" He asked.

I couldn't believe him. He said that right in front of her. "Really? She's right there." I shoved past him, into the house.

When I realized that Tessa wasn't following me, I had to turn around, re-shove Luke, and pull on Tessa's wrist. "Tessa, snap out of it. If you can beat any team in soccer, you can probably stop acting so..." I gestured to her. You give this girl a soccer ball and she has a hundred tricks. You put her in front Luke Hayes, her crush since sixth grade, she acts all loopy.

Tessa has been my friend since kindergarten. There were always two different classes until fifth grade. Luke and Tessa were always in opposite classes. She cared about sports during that year, thank God. But after that, it was downhill.

"I'm sorry," Tessa whispered to me. "But he's just so..."

"Ugh," I said. I looked around. "Everything is moved."

"The rooms are the same, though." Luke siddled up next to me.

I walked around the couch. "Did the TV get bigger?"

Luke just shrugged. "You guys want snacks?"

I nodded and Tessa eagerly agreed. "Nice to see you guys talk." Tessa said seriously.

I nodded again. "I kinda missed him."

"You guys look nice together." Tessa's tone was still the same.

I shrugged, My cheeks reddened, "I don't know about that."

"Don't know about what?" Luke asked.

"What tooooo...eat?" Tessa stuttered.

Tessa started acting normal again. Then Mrs. Hayes came in. "Aw, Sydney. I haven't seen you here in awhile, dear."

"Hi, Mrs. Hayes." Tessa and I said.

"And Tessa..." She continued.

Luke joined his mom. "Hi, mom, you can go now."

"Okay, fine Luke." She left with a pinch on his cheek. Tessa and I cracked up.

"Yeah, you guys can go now." He said kiddingly.
