Starting Over Again
Cassandra
“Alright, and this one right here.” I said pointing at the golden colored drapes.
“This’ll mesh perfectly with the room décor.” Lissa, my newly appointed assistant,
said, looking around.
“Now, I need some mosaic for the walls.” I murmured, lost in my thoughts. It had
taken only a week’s worth of home imprisonment to drive me completely crazy. To
say he was adamant on his decision was an understatement. He had basically cut me
off from the rest of the world, saying it was for my own benefit. Getting the room
completely dust-free was alright, but giving me only healthy food for all my meals
was crossing the line.
“Salvatore!” I practically yelled.
“What! What happened?” he came rushing, paranoid as ever.
“Nothing happened to me, but I can’t say the same for you.” I gritted out.
“Huh? What are you talking about? Are you feeling alright?” he said, touching my

voice as understanding drawn on his face. Opened his mouth to speak but I cut him
off. “No, Salvatore, enough is enough. You can’t keep me in here forever, I won’t let
you.” I said, suddenly on the verge of tears. Salvatore, whose face was a mask of
anger, looked shocked at my sudden mood-swing. But he quickly recovered as he
came forward and wrapped his arms around me. And I let him, burying my head in
his chest.
“What do you want to do?” he asked after a moment, his voice soft as a feather.
“I want to go back to work.” I replied hesitantly. His arms tightened around.
“Cassandra….” He started but I interrupted, hell-bent on making him see my
point.
“I can’t stay in here forever, lazing around, doing nothing.” I knew he was about
to speak again, saying that what he had was enough for the three of us. Hat what he
had was now mine as well. But I squeezed his waist, making in stop. “I know, I
