October
...............
Niall and I walk to the beach after we check in and bring all our crap up to the hotel room.
As we get to the sand we both take off our socks and shoes, walking bear foot through the sand. Niall makes faces as we trudge to the waves.
"What are you doing?" I ask laughing at his facial expressions.
"Sand feels weird between my toes."
"Wait, you've never been to the beach?" I exclaim.
"No, never really got to it I guess." He shrugs as our feet start making foot prints in the wet sand.
I take his hand in mine as we walk.
"I'm glad your first time is with me." I smile.
"What do you even do at a beach? Volley ball?" Niall asks raising an eyebrow and looking around.
"Oh my lord, you've watched way too many movies." I laugh.
"Are you sure we're not gonna go surf or somethin?" He asks.
I shake my head no.
"Oh, can you not understand me? It's okay I can speak Californian." Niall says then clears his throat.
"Whoa brah, we gonna catch some gnarly waves or what?" He says In a Ridiculous surfer accent.
"Your such a dork." I say shoving him.
"No really why do you like the beach so much?" He asks me.
"Sit down over here." I instruct as we walk over to dry sand. We sit down.
"Now lie down on your back." He does and I lie down with my head on his stomach.
"Look at the ocean." I say quietly.
Niall
..........
"Look at the ocean." October instructs, and I listen.
All I can see for miles are beautiful blue waves getting bigger then fading again. It seems the ocean goes on forever, like it never ends. It's calming. The sound of the waves crashing, and the cool sand beneath us. I can hear sea gulls in the distance when I close my eyes. I feel free. I feel so peaceful.
When I open my eyes October is smiling up at me watching me take it all in.
"What?" I ask.
"Your eyes. They're the exact shade if blue as the ocean." She answers.
I raise an eyebrow.
"Are they now?"
"Yeah... " she says smiling her cute dimpled smile.
I bend down and kiss her cheek.
"Your so weird stop staring." I tease.
"I can't help it!" She laughs sitting up.
We spend the rest of the time we have on the beach watching as the sun slowly set in the distance. Soon the stars came out and there were thousands.
There was a slight breeze that blew Octobers hair around as she gazed at the star filled sky.
"I haven't seen this many stars in ages." I gasp.
"Yes, I suppose London is pretty foggy." She agrees.
"It reminds me of Ireland." I say without thinking.
"Do you miss it there?" October questions without glancing away from the night scenery.
"Yes and no." I answer.
"There are things there that I'm glad I left behind, but there are also things that I miss a lot."
October nods and scoots closer to my side.
"This is the only thing I miss about California. The beach." October says.
"It can't be the only thing." I retaliate.
"Okay, well Amber too." She confirms.
"Not your parents?"
"No, I know I should miss them, but I don't. I love them but I don't miss them. I don't know how that works but it does."
"We're gonna see Amber tomorrow right?" I ask.
"Well... I was kinda hoping I could take you for a quick surprise before then..."
"Are you suggesting a blow job?" I smirk.
"No you pervert!" October shouts and playfully hits me.
"I wanna take you snowboarding."
"But what about my bum knee?" I ask.
"What bum knee?" She asks back.
Oh ya forget she didn't know about that.
"Oh I've had a screwed up knee since I was a lad." I answer.
"Too bad we're going." She says stubbornly.
"Niall?" She calls for me a few minutes later as we're walking back towards the hotel.
"Yes love?"
"Im scared that Amber won't forgive me."
"She's your best friend she'll always forgive you. It's what best friends do." I reassure her.
"But this time it's different Niall, she has a lot of horrible things going on and I haven't been there for her." I watch as a single tear rolls down her cheek and I kiss it away.
"It'll be okay, I promise." I whisper into her neck as she hugs me.
"I hope so."
Okay okay okay so a really big chapter is coming up soon, and the next one is just gonna be snowboarding, but it'll all make sense when I get to the other thing that I can't tell you about..... Hah
