54: That's It

JAMIE POV

I woke up to the sound of a text alert. I slowly open my eyes and reach for my phone.

From: Jiminie
To: me
Don't forget to eat breakfast! Have a good day!

I sighed. He hasn't given up. I quickly got up, went to the bathroom, got ready, and sprinted down the stairs. I was about to walk out of the door, when Elizabeth stopped me.

"No no young lady, get in here." She said from the kitchen. I did as she told me and saw a breakfast prepared for me. I looked at her.

"I have to go, I'm not that hungry." I said. She shook her head.

"You got another thing coming if your trying to starve. Sweetie, please do this for me. I don't want your problems to keep you from eating." She said. I sighed, sat down, and devoured my food. Once I was done, I thanked her and rushed out of the door.

However, my heart stopped when I saw Park Jimin waiting for me right outside. He smiled when he saw me, and I politely smiled back. I slowly walked towards him.

"Good morning Jamie!" He said.

"Hey Jimin." I answered.

"Shall we go?" He asked. I hesitated, because seeing him hurt the both of us.

"You can go ahead, I actually forgot something in the house." I said.

"Oh, that's fine, I'll wait." He said. I sighed.

"Jimin..."

"Why are you avoiding me?" He asked.

"I'm not--"

"Can we not even try to be friends anymore?" He asked. I looked up at him to see his eyes glossy.

"We can but... I don't want to give you hope." I said. He looked up and blinked the tears away.

"I'm really trying here not to embrace you right now. I'm putting in effort." He said.

"You wouldn't have to if you didn't see me." I said.

"Well all I want to do is see you..." He said.

I stopped and looked at him. My heart was pounding and I wanted so badly for him to sweep me off my feet, but I stood my ground.
I had to gently push him away, slowly. I am so sorry for what I am about to say.

"Well, I don't want to see you." I said painfully. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes but I forced them to stay in. I watched as a tear escaped out of Jimin's widened eyes.

"W-What?" He asked.

"Please just go." I pleaded, my voice shaking in the process. His shoulders dropped and he looked at me in disbelief.

We maintained complete silence for a few moments. Then, he said something that completely tore me to pieces.

"Fine. If it'll make you so happy, I give up." With those words out, the tears fell from my eyes, and Jimin's turned cold. He wiped the streaming tears from his face and turned around. Then, he walked back into his home, slammed the door, and left me completely broken. At that moment, I fell to my knees and sobbed.

That's it. We're over.

I sobbed for a good ten minutes before I decided to get up and go to school. The bell was going to ring soon and if I was tardy, my father would kill me.

Once I got to school, Rachel's eyes widened upon seeing my face. Jungkook and Taehyung looked up moments later and had the same reaction. They all slowly stood up from their seats. Rachel ran over to me and hugged me. I hugged back and we went to sit down.
