JAMIE POV

I woke up to a stinging pain on my back. I groaned as I realized that I rolled on top of it in my sleep. I slowly got up and looked in the mirror. There were slash marks reaching my neck, but nothing I couldn't hide. I sighed and got changed into jeans and a hoodie. Then, I brushed my teeth and went downstairs.

It was a little earlier than the time I usually left the house, but I went out anyway to avoid my father and Elizabeth.

When I did, I was surprised to see Jimin exiting his house at the same time. His mother was behind him when they opened the door, so I quickly ducked behind a plant to hide.

"Have a good day Jimin!" Jimin's mother called out. Jimin simply ignored her and continued walking. She sighed.

"How long are you going to ignore me?" By the time she asked this, Jimin was at the bottom of the steps. He stopped for one second, and without turning around, he said,

"Until you feel the pain I did." He continued to walk and I felt shocked. Meanwhile, his mother just stood at the doorway, sighed, then closed the door. I stood reliving the situation, before I got to my senses and started walking. I put my earphones on and walked a few yards away from Jimin. He didn't seem to know that I was behind him, and it was better that way.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds while I walked. My back stung with each step I took but I dared not to express any sign of pain.

At one point, I felt my body hit something. Pain shot to my back and I shot my eyes open.

"Watch where you're going!" Jimin yelled, but I was in too much pain to react. I fell to my knees and arched my back to relieve some tension. I groaned and put my head down.
Suddenly, I felt someone immediately bend down.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Jimin asked worried as he grabbed my shoulders, but a new shot of pain spread from his touch, and my reflexes shook him off. Jimin took this as a sign of me rejecting his help, and his expression turned cold again. He stood up and took a deep breath.

"Why did I even try." At those words, he walked away from me, leaving me on the floor. I just kept my head down as tears reached my eyes as a reaction of physical and mental pain.

"Jimin..." I sobbed. What I found weird was that I also felt a bit relieved, because even if it was just for one second, I got to see the old, caring Jimin again. The one I love so much. I sighed and slowly got up. Pain still stung my back but I forced it to be manageable as I trudged the rest of my way to school.

When I got there, I walked into the classroom to see Jimin sitting with the group looking mad.

"Hey guys." I said as I approached them.

"Good morning Jamie!" Jungkook, Taehyung, and Rachel greeted.

"Are you okay?" Jungkook asked. "You look hurt." He said. I nodded.

"Yeah...my entire back and shoulders just hurt really bad today." I said, making sure to emphasize the fact to Jimin so that he can understand why I shuddered at his touch.

"Oh, do you want me to massage it for you?" Jungkook asked.

"No!... no... but thank you, I really appreciate it." I said. He nodded and smiled. I sighed and faced the front of the room.

After fourth period, I walked out of my classroom and saw Jimin just a bit ahead of me. I watched him move away and into the crowd of students bursting out of the rooms. I continued to follow him with my gaze until I saw something that made my heart stop beating.
