The sunlight dotten through the trees, dappled patches of warmth and light spread over the smooth rocks beside the river where Ashley and Kyra lay together, basking in it's glory.
Neither of them spoke, because there was no reason to. They just listened to the heartbeat of the forest.
She was appreciating these precious moments, the rocks, almost as warm as Kyra beside her, the lush greens all around her, breathing new meaning into her life. He was appreciating the perfection that was his life, grateful for what the universe provided for him, for the lessons he'd learnt, for the people he'd met. For having Ashley in his life.
Nothing could ruin this for either of them.
