It was getting later, and we were all sitting around the campfire. The Bluetooth speaker had gone flat so Patty was picking delicately on a beat up acoustic guitar, the soft melody playing through the gentle night breeze. After a little while, everyone was shouting out requests, laughing whenever someone came up with something absurd, like Slayer or Metallica or slipknot.
"I bet Violet could shred out a banger!" Dylan laughed, and I glanced around the circle, realising with horror that they were all grinning at me expectantly.
"I don't play," I stuttered, shrinking back a little.
They all urged me, but I shook my head, refusing. There was no way in hell I'd play anything in front of anyone. I knew how easily I could make a fool of myself, and I was going to avoid it at all costs.
