Ash could play, not that she ever admitted it.
She'd decided to learn when she was sixteen, but had grown bored when she was nineteen.
A simple chord transition that Ash had first learned was A minor, C, G, A minor. She'd figured out that, as long as she continued strumming with her right hand, it didn't matter if the transition between chords was a little sloppy until she got the hang of it.
As for shredding, she'd never quite gotten the hang of that, which was part of the reason she'd gotten bored and given it up in the first place.
She never got bored of listening to someone else play, though. After a while, everyone started slipping away from the warm comfort of the fire, but Ash remained until Patty stopped and decided to head back to the hostel and get some sleep. It was a few hours past midnight.
She saw Dylan later, making out with Emilie, his hand up her shirt. He tried again to get her to go swimming with them, but, once ore, she shook her head, and the girls all giggled and started taking off their clothes to run to the water.
By now, Ashley really was tired, and she made her way back to the hostel, wishing she wasn't such a square and less awkward in social situations.
