start the song when you see this ***

-

when we got back to mine, or should i say our room, Tyler's bed an things were already moved in. everything looked like it did in my dream. the beds were moved in the same spots, just how i would of liked it.

Jenna hooked up new IV's to the both of us, and helped us to our beds. especially me; i still felt pretty sore, and the chemo wears me out.

our chemo treatments were longer today; we started at 4:00pm and ended at about 8:00pm. normally, this was an early time for me. i always stayed up late when i was in highschool, but i knew my illness was finally catching up to me, and so was the chemo. i just had to comply with it. there was no ignoring this, so i might as well get used to it.

i ended up with the TV remote, switching between Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

Tyler was strumming his ukulele, occasionally a few words slipping past his lips.

i turn my head to him, "hey, whatcha singing?"

he looks up and blushed at the fact i heard him sing.

"oh, just a song i wrote awhile ago. it was for my mom. i told her when i started learning how to play ukulele, i wanted to write her a song. so i did, i call it House of Gold. i sang it to her at her birthday last year, before i got sick."

"ohh i see," my eyes wander the room, then back to Tyler, "can you play me some of it?"

this must of been the first time he has played for anyone besides his mother, because he was hesitant at first.

"uhh, i don't know Josh, i'm not that good."

i threw my pillow at him, resulting in him giving me a goofy face.

"c'mon Ty, you'll do just fine. c'mere, you can even sit on my bed."

i motioned him to come closer, patting the end of my bed to where he could sit. i scooted backwards, feeling the bed drop as Tyler sat on it.

"p-please don't make fun of me. i'm actually really n-nervous to do this. i'm just gonna sing a piece of it."

i smile at him, hoping to show him he has nothing to be scared about.

"that's okay. you can do it Ty, i believe in you. i bet it'll be great."

he sat up straighter and took a deep breath, and started to strum and sing along.

"Let's say we up and left this town,

And turned our future upside down.

We'll make pretend that you and me,

Lived ever after happily."

he stopped and looked up at me, his cheeks turning red as he seen the smile spread across my face. that must've gave him confidence, because he continued to sing.

"She asked me, "Son, when I grow old,

Will you buy me a house of gold?

And when your father turns to stone,

Will you take care of me?"

the words were beautiful. the way he sang them, they just seemed to flow through his lips so easily; he was made for singing. his voice was soothing, relaxing, everything in one.

"I will make you queen of everything you see,

I'll put you on the map,

I'll cure you of disease."
