QUIANTE
It's about time for the wedding and I'm nervous. I hope Korryn shows up. I need Korryn to show up. I love her with all my heart but lying has never been apart of our relationship and one thing I know Korryn hates is liars. My thoughts were interrupted by a vibration I felt in my right pants leg pocket. I pulled out my phone and it was a text from Kasey. It read: I got Korryn in the dress but she seem reluctant about it. Dude whatever you did, you gotta make it right.
That's just what I planned on doing. Making it right. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. That's one thing I look forward to tonight. Undressing my WIFE and making love to her. Tonight was the night that we came together mentally and physically as husband and wife. Korryn will always and forever be my Everything. I just really want her to stop being upset with me and come and marry the man she's know me to be for years. I called Kasey's phone and demanded to speak to Korryn.
"What Quiante?"
"Korryn....baby....I'm sorry for leaving you like that earlier. I just wanted everything to be a surprise. I guess you can figure out why I called James now."
"Actually I wasn't sure Quiante. I know what kind of man James is and I wasn't exactly sure.....I just don't know. A lot of things drowned my thoughts when I saw his number in my call log and I was unsure."
"Unsure about what? Unsure about my character? Unsure that I would go do work for that douchebag?"
"Well you didn't quite make it easy when you stormed off the way you did. Look baby....I love you but you know I don't deal with liars."
"I know baby. That's why I plan on making it up to you. All...night.....long baby."
"Mmmm...I like the sound of that daddy."
"Well hurry up and get yo pretty ass over here so we can get started."
"Okay baby. See you soon."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
When I arrived to our little venue, I saw all of our friends were there and on time. They were just all mingling. I spotted Halle and made sure she was at the altar before Korryn arrived and of course I had to have my best friend at the altar behind me. Kasey texted me that they were about 5 minutes away so I made my way to the altar and directed the orchestra to begin playing.
KORRYN
I cannot wait to marry the man that I've loved for so many years. I didn't think I would go through with it before the conversation we just had. I had no hope in us. We will definitely talk about his dishonesty because I believe if you'll lie once, you'll lie again.
I let Kasey drive because 1.) I didn't know where the venue was because they wouldn't tell me. 2.) Because I had no choice. Kasey was being the best little chauffeur and for that I love her. UNTIL she pulled her phone and text someone. I wanted to slap her but I didn't and I didn't say anything. This is her life and I did not wanna start a fight in my special day so I let that one go. We pulled up to the park and everything was beautiful. Kasey parked the car and there was a silk like isle leading up to the altar I saw the love of my life, my best friend, and the love of my life's best friend standing there. Everyone stood up when they saw me at the end of the isle. The orchestra began playing here comes the bride and I just began crying. I began crying even harder when James met me halfway down the isle and linked arms with me. At this moment in time, he did not feel like my sperm donor, he was my father. He was my dad. It felt like he'd been there since the beginning that moment he linked arms with me. I felt like a little princess and my dad was my king. In that moment, there was nothing more that I wanted but to be given away to Quiante by James.
"Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"
James looked me in my eyes and wiped my tears. He looked back to the preacher and did the unthinkable.
"I do."
I couldn't believe he actually did it. I thought he was going to go against the grain and object right then and there but for some reason after he said I do, I had nothing but more love for him than I did that moment he linked arms with me.
I kissed his cheek and he placed my hand into Quiante's. Quiante kissed my hand and I blushed like a little school girl. God I love this man. Nothing could ruin this day. Or so I thought.
As soon as the preacher parted his lips to begin the ceremony, we all heard loud music coming from around the corner. The person driving the car pulled up and parked right in front of our venue, while their music was still playing. A guy got out of the driver side door and pulled a gun from his hip and began firing. He hit a few chairs as the people scattered but no one was hit. Not until James jumped in front the guy that we soon recognized to be Rodrick. James tried to grab the gun from Rodrick but it was too late. He shot my father in his stomach and took off running. I know Quiante was his target since he'd just beat him up for what he did to our little sister but once he shot James, I guess he figured he did enough damage.
I ran to James's side and applied pressure to his gun shot wound.
"CALL 911!! NOW!" I said through my weeping.
Quiante ran to the other side of James and moved my hands away. He applied pressure to his gunshot wound while Halle grabbed me away from the whole scene.
I had blood all over my dress. Halle tried to talk to me but I refused to listen. I just sobbed as we sat in her car. We heard sirens but I was stuck in the seat crying, as I was a stone statue. I couldn't move. I was devastated that when I finally felt the connection with this man, he was shot.

James died around 12:45am the next morning. The bullet caused an internal rupture and they were not able to save him. Now I sat here in the hospital waiting room with my sister, my fiancee, my best friend, and Quiante's best friend, crying and weeping. Now both of my biological parents were gone. Sometimes I wonder what would've ever happened to me if I wouldn't have received that letter from James.
Well....that's it. Thank you all for reading my book. I really appreciated. The sequel will be coming soon. The sequel will be about the married life of Quiante and Korryn.
