''Alright people, settle down. Now, the principal has had just informed me that we are invited to a very special archaeological excavation in Egypt next Monday. So while I expect you all to be on your best behavior, remember to have fun and do not cause any trouble.'' Most of the students groaned but you were trembling, near bursting with excitement. Ancient Egypt was one of your favorite historical time lines. Everything about the culture and, dark practices of the bygone era intrigued you to no end. Of course, none of your fellow classmates felt the same way. All they saw was being out in the hot sun, roasting to death looking up the bones of dead kings.

They were more than that, and you felt a unknown hate for some who would call them as such. They were treated like gods among humans back then. ''A dig? In Egypt? I don't know Y/N'' You jumped up and down, giving your mother the puppy eyes. ''Mom please? This is a once and a lifetime chance for me to actually see a real royal tomb. Not just the fake ones on tv. And besides, the Egyptian government has allowed us to go into one of the very old tombs they had just discovered and...'' You breathed, dropping to your knees hugging one of her dress pants clad legs. ''Please?! Must I beg? Cause I am right now.''

''Sophia, I think you should let her go. Didn't you say half of your family originated from Egypt?'' Oh, that's right. That's definitely true. ''Please?! It'll be like a family reunion for me...!'' ''Alright, alright dear. You can go. Just don't bring back anything you're not allowed to take, understand?'' You nod with vigor, barely being able to hide the large grin spreading on your face. ''Thank you both!''

The plane ride was long and boring. Good thing you brought a few books to read while next to a sleeping old lady. And unfortunately, a old guy hacking up phlegm on your left. Wonderful. ''Single file everyone, we don't have all day.'' Guess it made even the teacher a bit cranky. ''Now, we've been told that we'll be staying at the hotel in the industrial area that was once, upon a time, the market area. This is exciting, isn't it?'' More groans. Seesh, can't they be at least grateful for not paying of their tickets?

The hotel rooms were authentic, purely resembling that of a ancient bedroom, except for the bed itself but that can be overlooked. While the others were just barely unloading their baggage and luggage and settling in, you had already had everything set out. Too excited to sleep. Going over towards the open balcony, enjoying the full moon and stars, it was enchanting here. Just as you hoped it was from all the books you had read. It felt like home. Of course, you were the first to be up, bright and early to begin exploring.

The real market place was amazing. Tapestries hung from windows all around, numerous stands of any and all items. And the smells, so many different types of candy and ice cream here!

''This is our guide and curator, Mr. Larosen.'' As the class began to travel along the dirt paved road towards the site, you took in the sights of the numerous giant old stone pillars that once stood tall and served as the entrance gate into the palace itself. ''Mr. Larosen? if I may ask, how long did it take for the diggers to find this place? It looks completely intact and almost new.'' The brunette male blinks, stroking the burly beard under his nose for a moment. ''I'd say...4 months prior to this event actually. No one knows how long it was buried underneath the sand, nor its origin. I dare say not even the name of this kingdom of where we stand upon.'' Curious green eyes nearly bore into your E/C ones. ''How do you know of this?'' You, being a shy person, shrunk back slightly. ''I-I've read many books s-sir. I'm in love with this country and its history and culture.''

''...I see.'' The smile in his tone made you tilt your head in confusion. Okay? Weird. ''Ah, it's nothing. Shall we continue? I doubt any of your fellow classmates feel the same.'' You nod, clutching the strap of your backpack. ''Y-Yes, of course!''
