Sulking would do the boy no good. If he were to truly avenge his mother, he would have to train harder than his current state allowed. Good thing the backyard was spacious but also held a hidden entrance to the forest as well. It served well as a training area for both young men. Over and over had he envisioned this scenario in his head for as long as he can remember. Finally after 5,000 years of waiting, it's alas going to pay off.

He could only hope that would be enough to end his madness. But then again, when did hope ever came in handy for someone who denounced their gods?

And besides, he wouldn't and couldn't bother Atem with this matter; this was personal. Family concerns that his king should have no part in despite their history. He would've done the same for him. A brother in arms and grief. It didn't take long for that sneaky bastard to pop up again, all damn cheerful and almost elated to see him after so many centuries.

''My boy. It's been too long. Come closer and let me have a look at you.'' That was met with a blade pointed at him. ''Do not call me that. You have no damn right to call me that!'' That so called cheerful and happy presence died. ''Still playing lapdog to the pharaoh I see.'' His brown eyes narrowed. ''I really am disappointed in you. And all this time, I thought I could pass down my legacy to you.'' A harsh laugh came from Vanin.

''Legacy? What legacy?! Those pathetic and pitiful band of cowards of child killers? Rapists?!'' He spat out the last word in disgust. ''Don't make me laugh. I would've slaughtered all of them like sacrificial sheep and have not shed a tear. Worthless. All of them. But that's what you taught me right?'' Lavender eyes glared darkly at the other viciously across the barren field. ''Unlike you, I have morals. I never wanted to become a thief but I had no choice in the matter. No thanks to you.''

''You knew the stakes. And you still deny your vengeance.''

''My vengeance is right in my face. And now I'm going to extract that and end all of this.'' he draws out his sword, blade gleaming in the sun's light. ''I won't let you hurt anyone else close to me! Not again!'' Bakura briefly glanced at the blade in the boy's hand. ''You continued to keep that? You never did understood my purpose. Why I had to kill Kia.'' ''You think I'd forget?! You murdered my mother!''

''And I've told you before, for the sake of Kul Elna.''

''Fuck that long dead village and fuck you!'' Anger finally made itself clear on the albino's features.

Swords came to clash. Blood and skin opened and tattered. Vanin skid backwards, jostled at the sudden flurry of attacks. There was no reason to doubt him. This man had earned his title of the King of Thieves. But now it was time this 'King' was overthrown.

''Had that brat brainwashed you that you would forget where you had come from? What he did to us? Our people?!'' He barely managed to dodge what would've been a fatal blow to his ribs. ''Brainwash? Is that what you call friendship? No, I just opened my eyes. What you should've done from the start.''

A punch to the face sent the other down before being pinned and rained down more hits. ''You just couldn't let go of that hate. That ugly rage. You just had to let that and...him take over. You make me sick.'' Vanin's eyes widen. ''Zo...You're even more of a fool than I thought to have taken his offer!''

Bakura spat out blood before kicking him off. Both equally bruised and wounded with numerous cuts and scratches. ''He is but a means to an end. Something I have also had taught you boy. Make no mistake, our beloved home will be rebuilt. With your aid or not.'' ''Coward! Get back here!'' The wounded male had already disappeared, leaving the teen alone in the forest.

''Zorc...This can't be good.''
