Now it was his turn to be caught off guard by that question. Sharp eye lashes closed before re opening them now staring down at the blood seeping into the carpet, lost in memory. How long has it been? Ah, of course. Time has no meaning when you're sealed away in eternal slumber vowing revenge. ''Um...Atem?'' ruby orbs blinked at the soft tone. Your voice. He almost broke down. Five thousand years of grief and pain. Stewing in his own raging anguish and sorrow. Often he had wondered, in that distant time long ago, if he shouldn't had listened to that being, whatever it was, and took his own life instead just so he could join his betrothed in the afterlife. Nearly driven mad by grief at the isolation of it all. He had lost everything dear to him. No, not everything entirely. Gently grasping both of your hands, eyes boring deep into yours as if trying to memorize every little detail about your eyes and face. He was not going to lose you a second time. You were meant to be only his and his alone.

''Over 5,000 years of slumber, never had I ever thought I'd be reawaken by the spitting image of my dearest.'' His voice, once menacing and strong, began to fall apart and open. Finally having a chance to show the pent up grief, pain, and pure relief and joy that was locked away for so long. ''It may not have been through fate's cruel hand, but I am glad to breathe again.'' His face slowly begins to come closer to yours again, cupping the left side of your face in a gentle hold. You, on the other hand, while still utterly terrified and a little emotionally and mentally detached from the situation at hand, you were memorized by this person. Whatever he is.

That question popped up.

''Do...Do you have a human side?'' Honestly? And oddly enough, that was bugging you since this all started. So far, all you've felt were physical wisps of air. Nothing solid. A smirk drifts upon his lips. ''I do, actually. Though...'' his fingers twitched a bit at the word. ''it has been a very long time since then.'' ''Show me.'' Why must you always say the stupidest things that you'll only regret later on? That smirk only grew.

''As you wish.''
