You: What did you mean by that?
Alex: I enjoy talking to you
Alex: :)
Alex set his phone down, hands shaking. He was already regretting having sent the message - in fact, his face turned a flaming shade of red almost right after he'd sent it and he'd pushed his phone away, peeking at it behind his hands over his face before reluctantly checking to see whether or not she's messages him back yet.
He tried to cover it up, making it seem like it was no big deal - that he just liked their friendship. He wasn't even sure if he was willing to admit to himself that maybe he was feeling a little more than that.
It was crazy, right? To be thinking such things about somebody who he'd never even met, or maybe he had, but he wouldn't have even know because he had no idea who the heck she was?
He had no idea what it was about her that made him feel so willing to open up to her, to tell her everything - he wanted to know everything about her, and felt almost no boundaries in spilling everything that he felt to her.
He didn't want to admit that talking to her was the highlight of the day - and maybe the only highlight of it. She was the eye of the hurricane, in a world that was increasingly getting harder and harder for Alex to understand or to cope with. The worst part? He had no idea how, or when, or even if he should ever tell her that.
