We make these memories for ourselves... where our eyes are never closing, hearts are never broken, and times forever frozen still.

can we hang out? :D

Tom just texted me. It's been two days since I've last seen him. He's been around all the time, you wouldn't think he has better things to do without me.

Sorry, Tom. I can't. I'm out with Luke. :D

I pressed send. I almost smacked my palm on my forehead when I realised how much of a mistake I just made.

oh...

I knew it! He would think of it the wrong way--anyone in Tom's position would think of it the wrong way.

It's not what you think. We're going out as friends. We talked, and we'll talk, too. Soon. :) I miss you... :(

I added the last part because I honestly do miss him! Plus, I wanted him to feel better.

I miss you more. Please don't fall in love with him... :(

I knew he was only joking, and I rolled my eyes to my amusement.

"Are you texting Tom?" Luke asked me. He probably noticed how much I've been grinning.

"Yes," I answered, "he's acting like a clingy boyfriend." I rolled my eyes again.

"Don't you think I would feel awkward with your answer?" he asked again, and then I got it.

"Oh, Luke... I-I'm s-sorry... I d-didn't, I didn't m-mean t-to..." I don't know what I was supposed to say, he looked so serious.

And then he laughed. Like his whole life depended on it.

"Only joking," he then said after calming down. "I already told you I'm letting go."

I glared at him playfully. "Do not do that again," I said as I supressed a smile.

He laughed once more and said, "You should've seen your face. I thought you'd cry, Veronica, and I can't let that happen even if I wanted to torment you for a bit longer."

I gaped at his words, a smile forming on my lips. "You're so cruel!" I said as I lightly slapped him on his arm.

"I'm not as cruel as life, though," he replied, staring blankly somewhere. He noticed me noticing him get into a trance so he just gave me another smile.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" I questioned him, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing," he answered casually, like he didn't just become mysterious once again. "Don't you have a class to go to or something?" he asked, repeating my words to him.

I rolled my eyes. "Nope," I said. "I've got a lot of free time now so you might as well be telling me where we're supposed to go?"

"Let's go to a theme park?" he suggested.

"Aren't we a little too old for that?" I chuckled.

"No one's too old for a theme park," Luke said.

I like that Luke's not being so quiet around me anymore. Besides the fact that I'm disturbed about his facial bruises and I think I saw one on his arm when he rolled up his shirtsleeves (which suddenly left me guilty because I just smacked him on the arm and who knows if he's got a lot of bruises there?), I now feel more comfortable around him. It's a bit odd how someone who was almost like a stranger to you just a few months back, would become someone you care about.
