Sam woke up as he felt someone jump onto his legs.
Sam shoved the weight off of himself and sat up. He looked at the end of the bed to see bright purple eyes staring back at him.
"Woahh," the kid said. He looked about seven. Sam nervously got up and turned the light on.
"Who are you and how are you here?" Sam asked.
"I wanted to see how the second apocalypse started and then my body glowed purple and I came here! Do Angels really harm humans??" the kid asked. "I'm Danny!"
"There wont be an apocalypse because I'm not working with Robert," Sam replied.
"Robert... oh yeah! I remember him from history class!" Danny exclaimed. "My parents must be worried about me, this is the first time I found my ability."
"So you're from the future?" Sam asked.
"Yup," he replied.
"And they put Angels in the textbooks?" Sam asked.
"Ever since the AAO was founded," Danny replied.
"What's that?" Sam asked.
"The Angel Acceptance Organization," he explained. "So what led up to here? Where are you?"
"I'm kidnapped. By Robert. It's been just over four weeks, now," Sam explained as he looked away from the kid and grabbed his sketchbook, sitting back on the bed.
"It's May 26th! Isn't it!" Danny exxlaimed.
"Its only the 24th, actually," Sam replied.
"Oh..." Danny mumbled. "Wait! Oh yeah!
Sam had Danny hide when Robert came in.
"Sam. It's today. We're finally taking control," Robert explained before grabbing Sam by the arm and pulling him out of the room. "Don't say a word unless I tell you to. These are your lines."
Sam was handed a sheet of paper and Robert brought him onto a... a balcony.
There was chaos below him.
Angels being reckless. There was fire and the unimaginable was unfolding.
This was angel on angel battle, and it was a rough and deadly free for all.
Sam looked back and saw Danny looking around the corner.
"Angels! This is our time!" Robert shouted. Sam felt something sharp poking into his neck. "Damien won't know to save you if you die."
Sam looked down at the sheet in fear.
"Everyone listen to us!!" Sam shouted as it all went silent. Nobody said anything. It worked.
He usually had to say what they wanted. But now they listened to what he wanted. It was seriously working.
"The apocalypse is among us! We're known now! We can rise up against all and rule the world!" Robert shouted as Sam felt the blade poke further against him.
"You want to follow us! You want us to lead you to a great new world led by Angels!" Sam shouted. He was hurt just to speak. He almost wished they hadn't listened to him.
But he felt them all listen and agree.
This apocalypse is supposed to end well? Danny seemed to talk about it like his teachers would talk about the world wars, things like a hundred years old.
This kid was from pretty far in the future. It's quite the way to learn about history. Sam still felt bad for him.
Imagine you're like 7 or 8 and you're thrown into a kidnapper's house.
Sam got back into his room and Robert locked it up again. Danny came back out of his hiding place.
"He held a knife to you?" Danny asked. "They thought you were like... brainwashed or something. That being kidnapped turned you braindead or something."
"I'm perfectly sane... I think. You might just be a figment of my imagination," Sam replied, grabbing the notebook.
He flipped through the pages and Danny sat next to him with his legs crossed.
"I recognize him!" he exclaimed.
"It's Damien. He's probably mentioned briefly in the books," Sam replied.
"Oh yeah," he said. "Why's he sad?"
"Because I thought he was sad," Sam replied.
"He's not?" Danny asked.
"He wasn't," Sam replied.
"Oh," he mumbled.
