"Alen I found him," Teffy said into her phone, trying not to be noticed while watching him.
"Where are you?" Alen asked.
"Near this park thing," Teffy explained.
"I don't know where that is, I'll try to find you, though," Alen replied.
Teffy watching him, he was sitting on a park bench, with a large sketch pad on his lap and a small bag next to himself.
"He looks so harmless," Teffy mumbled to herself. She saw Alen at the other end of the park and waved them over, Alen glanced at Robert as they passed him by.
"He's drawing a deer or something, it's so innocent," Alen explained.
"Is he good?" Teffy asked.
"Exceptionally. It's the first time I've seen it," Alen replied. "But I think it's just a developed talent. There's eraser shavings visible on the page."
"That would be a pathetic thing for an angel's power to be," Teffy said, laughing to herself, imagining an angel who could only draw flawlessly and perfectly.
"So should we wait for him to leave and stalk him until we can attack do you think? I don't know if he'll get up soon," Alen asked, looking over at Teffy.
"We can always sit and watch him," Teffy suggested.
"But people will think we're weird, and he might catch on," Alen replied.
"Well then we act natural?" Teffy replied.
"No wait he's packing his stuff up!" Alen said, feeling relieved that they didn't have to actually act out or get noticed.
"Let's follow him, and when nobody's around we pull him behind a building or somewhere he won't be seen," Teffy said, walking out of cover as he got up and turned down the street.
"Good idea," Alen replied, following Teffy into the open. "I'm nervous, what if he knows we're here? What if his power is to do with hearing and he got up to lure us?"
"Then we'll know his power for next time," Teffy replied. "We've been ambushed before, we know what to do."
"Yeah I suppose," Alen replied.
They followed him, acting natural, until Teffy saw an opening and ran forwards, taking Alen, who was messaging Mitch that they found him, by surprise.
Teffy pulled him into the forest to their left, Alen taking off behind her an scanning the area the last time before following her in.
He was on the ground as Teffy managed to get her bow out and on him. Alen grabbed their knife from their bag and stood closer to him on Teffy's left.
"Hello, girls," Robert said, standing up and facing them calmly. His calmness was frightening, they didn't know if he could snap his fingers and zap them both with lightning at a deadly voltage, or if he could only teleport away from them. "Oh, sorry Alen, I only saw Taylor there."
"Why the hell did you stay in Ontario for so long," Alen asked, trying not to show their fear, something they'd been working on since they first joined the Org.
"I'm sure you know already. Looking for someone I know," Robert explained.
"You work alone," Teffy announced.
"It's all part of the plan, Taylor! I'd like to talk with you, actually!" Robert explained. "I'd like your help!"
"No?" Teffy replied, looking over at Alen.
"What are you planning?" Alen asked.
"Alen, you know that's classified information! You might still be connected to your friends at the Angel Organization! I know we're friends but I can't trust the Org. You do know how long you've known them," Robert explained.
"We aren't friends. What are you planning," Alen explained.
"I'm surprised you haven't killed me yet," Robert explained. Alen looked over at Teffy, she kept her aim but she seemed nervous. "Alen, drop the knife."
Robert raised a gun, Alen's reaction was instantaneous, the knife landing on the ground by their feet.
"It's not cheating. You can still wound me with a gun, you just can't kill me if I've been shot. You aren't an Angel, Alen. You're fair game," Robert explained. "Teffy. I need to talk to you."
"No," Teffy replied.
"Then kill me," he replied.
"Do you think I'm dumb?!" Teffy replied.
Alen saw her opening as Robert got distracted by a car passing, the road was to his left. Teffy! Shoot him what are you doing?! They mentally shouted at her.
Robert dropped the gun. "C'mon Taylor, why don't we have a little chat? Huh? We aren't that different, really. We can be a team."
"Teffy shoot!" Alen shouted through their fear, Teffy stumbled with her bow and the drawn arrow loosened before falling. Alen bent to grab the knife but as they got up to follow after he was in sight of the road.
Something was bothering Teffy. She hadn't fumbled that badly since her third kill. Alen didn't know if they were ready to ask about it, though. If it was something that bad, they didn't think they wanted to know what it was.
"He got away," Alen said, walking over to the gun and picking it up.
"I let him," Teffy mumbled to herself, putting away her bow and picking up the grounded arrow.
"This gun is a prop," Alen announced. "It's empty. It was all for effect."
"He's still going to be in Europe. Let's get Mitch and Hannah over here to help us find him," Teffy explained. Alen dropped the gun and putting their knife away.
"Yeah. I'll get on the phone with Mitch, you want to walk around and look for any signs of him staying or leaving the area?" Alen asked.
"Yeah," Teffy replied. The two parted ways when they hit the sidewalk.
