"Sam get up! I told you yesterday that we need to go check out the mall," Hayley said. Whacking Sam multiple times in the face with the pillow that had fallen off his bed sometime during the night.

"Hayley?! Ugh... just let me sleep," Sam replied, pulling his blankets over his face.

"You're not a morning person, are you?" she asked.

"Not five in the morning, no," Sam said as she tore the blankets away from him.

"What's this?" Hayley asked walking over to his desk and picking up a brown book with blue designs on two edges. "Are you still reading?"

"That's my grandma's journal," Sam replied. Sitting up and grabbing his gloves from the floor.

"Ooh, Grandma Owen's own journal, it's real pretty," Hayley complimented.

"I found it a few days ago in my closet," Sam replied, grabbing an old pair of socks from the floor.

"Ew, don't you wash your clothes?" Hayley commented.

"I've only worn these once this week, they're fine," he replied.

"Geez you're gross," Hayley replied, leaving the journal on his desk. "Meet me in the truck in a few minutes. Don't worry about breakfast, I already have some in the truck."

"But why so early," Sam replied. Running fingers through his hair.

Hayley left smiling and Sam shut his door behind himself and got dressed, grabbing his scarf and putting it on as he walked out towards the front door where he stopped to step into his boots.

"I don't even think the mall is open this early," Sam grumbled as he pushed open the door.

Outside was definitely not Hayley's truck. It was her boyfriend, Carlson's. Was there even anything happening at the mall?

"Ey Sammy!" Carlson shouted, waving towards him.

"Hey Carlson," Sam replied walking over.

"Carlson heard we were headed to the mall and since he works there he offered to drive us," Hayley said. "Isn't that great!"

"Yeah, his car only reeks of fast food and alcohol," Sam said. Mumbling the car fact under his breath. The lazy nineteen-year-old got worked up over small things and nearly killed Sam on multiple occasions. Especially things about his car.

"Oh, and I grabbed a muffin for you," Hayley said. Throwing it at Sam who barely caught it.

"Gee, thanks," he replied.

Sam sat in the back trying not to breathe too much as they drove to the mall. The one in the city.

They made it there as it opened and Hayley told Sam to do some research before disappearing with Carlson.

Sam sat down on a bench and pulled out his laptop. Connecting to the wifi of the Tim Horton's behind him.

He looked through some of the news articles completely doubting Hayley actually had found a hunt there.

He noticed an article that he found strange, looking through similar ones he discovered that on multiple occasions, young children had been found separated from their parents and drugged. The pattern instantly shouted Angel. He shut off his laptop and decided to find Hayley. But at the memory of her boyfriend he decided to just do anything else.

As he was walking around the mall scanning for suspicious Angel-like characters he noticed Carlson talking to a little boy and got closer so he could hear the problem.
