Chapter 16- Trapped

Sam was pacing around the room, boredom had gotten to him and Marc and Damien were away because of school, so Sam had nothing to do and nobody to talk to.

He turned on the television again and flipped through the television, nothing interesting had come up in five minutes he checked last.

Sam shut it off and groaned, falling back onto his bed and staring at the ceiling. He could read his grandma's journal but what was the point? It'd just make him want to hunt an angel even more.

Something hit his window and he ran over, it was something different and he was attracting all of his attention to it.

He pulled the curtain aside to see Hayley as his excitement fled from him and he pulled it open, flooding his room with cold air.

"What do you want?" Sam asked. "And be quick, the cold air is getting in."

"I'm stealing you," she explained.

"Are you out of your mind?! I'll lose everything and more! My mom would kill me, Hayley!!" Sam shouted back.

"Just one hunt? He ran away and now we have to corner him so he can't escape!" Hayley shouted enthusiastically.

"What was he doing?" Sam asked.

"Like a town over, the squirrels were dropping like flies wherever he went. Their little systems just gave up," Hayley explained. "A lot of death, early December, too."

"My mom would literally kill me, you can corner a guy just fine, Hayley," Sam replied. "Can I close the window now?"

"Suit yourself!" Hayley replied.

Sam closed the window and the blinds. He wasn't happy that he couldn't defend himself. Damien had his fallback weapon and he wasn't even close.

Sam sat on his bed and decided to flip through television channels again, maybe he'd get lucky this time and find something to watch.

He'd really wanted to go on that hunt, but he didn't want to jeopardize the Christmas trip, so he had to hold off. It was a good thing she hadn't forced him to go.

Who knows what could've happened if him mom found out he'd left. It'd have been worse than if Carter had decided to show his face again.
