"Sam, Sam are you there? What's up?" Marcus asked.

"I don't trust her with my life..." Sam mumbled.

"Woah, Sam slow down for a second what happened?" Marcus asked.

"She doesn't trust me... there's been an Angel, Carter, following us, one of the Angels we tracked down just told us about him, she called me an Angel, Marcus..." Sam explained.

"Sam, do you want me to get Damien to drive over to pick you up?" Marc asked.

"That'd be nice... but what am I supposed to tell him?" Sam asked.

"He knows about Angels, he tried to tell me a ghost story about them the other day, he's not a hunter though. He'll be good to come get you, you want me along?" Marc asked.

"Yeah..." Sam mumbled. "I wish I could drive. But if the Angel was telling the truth, then Carter's going to follow either us or Hayley."

"Hang in there, Sam, we're on our way, what town are you in?" Marc asked.

Sam was silent, he saw him, a man with brown hair, the bangs died blue, and basically neon blue eyes.

"I can see Carter..." Sam whispered.

"Do you need help? Damien said he has some tracker app he connected your phone to for a prank, we'll be there eventually, don't die on me, Sam," Marc explained.

"I'll try but he's looking at me... I have to go..." Sam explained before ending the call.

Carter was watching Sam, who was staring back. He had gotten closer.

"None of us are trusted, Sam. What's the use for trusting people? Most Angels are trustworthy, in the way that we're proud of our work. We enjoy it. There's no reason to lie to you, and there's no reason for you to lie to me, is there. Oh, just looking at what you've done makes me jealous! I'm glad I hooked onto you rather than your one-way minded friend back there. Angels cause chaos, don't we Sam? We're the ones who attract the police, but these past few days, I've disturbed peace everywhere and my face is still unknown. You've been my favourite, Sam. The people back in your home town have no idea you have a kill count. Who were they? Your friends Marcus and Damien?" Carter asked, grinning over at Sam and walking closer.

"How do you know their names? I'm not scared of you!" Sam shouted. Carter chuckled, he had a terrifying look in his eyes.

"But Sam, I have a deal for you, we're practically brothers, here, hear me out. I will go. I'll stop following you and Hayley. I won't go to your home town," Carter explained. Sam pushed away most of his words as meaningless junk.

"Well what's the catch?" Sam asked. "I know how deals work."

"You have to let the next good one go. You can't kill it, Hayley can't kill it, Marcus can't kill it. The next Angels you find, you have to listen to it, you have to hear it out. We don't lie about our works, so the next one that says it'll stop, or that it did nothing, you have to let it leave, nobody can harm them," Carter explained.

"Can I kill it if it won't," Sam replied.

"Oh, your side goes until you let one be free. Angels don't lie often, Sam. Like how you wouldn't lie to another hunter about being one. We don't lie to each other," Carter explained. "Oh, and if you decline, I know where you live, and everyone you care about. I know your town."

"So?" Sam asked.

"Hayley will never have seen me, she's going to pin it on you. You've set everything up perfectly for yourself to be the hunted. Even the call you just made  set yourself up perfectly. What do you say?" Carter asked.

"I'll take it. It doesn't seem I have a choice, do I. I hope I never see you again," Sam explained.

"I hope we do, following you is enjoyable," Carter replied before holding out his hand. Sam shook it and Carter smiled before walking away.

Sam sat and waited for Damien to show up on a bench, it was on the opposite side of the town from where Hayley was staying.

"Hey Sam, you get away from Carter alright?" Marc asked.

"Yeah, let's just leave this town, I already got my stuff here," Sam explained.

"Damien was worried sick for you," Marcus replied. "More than me."

"Sam is he dead?" Damien asked seriously. Carter's whole truth speech came back into his head. You wouldn't lie to another hunter about being one. We don't lie to each other.

"He's not," Sam replied.

"What deal did you make?" Damien asked. "If you didn't, I'm not leaving."

"Nothing bad," Sam replied.

"Good," Damien said.

Sam was just happy to be on his way home. He missed his bed and his friends.
