"Hello?" I asked in a groggy voice.

I swear if it's Ethan calling from Zaria's phone I'm going to be pissed. Nigga's always waking me up.

"I hope you're sitting down because I have good news."

"I'm sorry who is this?" I asked sitting up now.

"Ms. Heart."

My eyes widened. I was awake now. "Oh Ms. Heart!" I exclaimed before really trying to shake my sleep off.

"Oh I'm sorry dear were you still sleeping?"

I removed myself from the sheets and Grayson's arms. "No. I was actually just waking up," I told her as I went to throw on his T-shirt over my naked body. Once I got myself situated, I walked myself to the couch in the TV room.
"What's up tho?" I asked her.

"Cindy I'm happy to tell you your short story has been asked to be sold in stores nation wide."

Have you ever felt a heart stopping moment? Because for me this is what they felt like. My heart skipped a beat for a second making my mouth become agape with no air. I was speechless. I couldn't believe my name would be known worldwide. None of this was suppose to happen. I was suppose to be another static, but instead I'm an author. An author whose short story would soon be sold worldwide. It made me realize then and there that this was an action my mom, dad, and God crafted for me. This was God's gift.

After Ms. Heart and I discussed what would happen from here, I hung up the phone and went back to Grayson and I's room. He was still asleep even after I crawled back in bed. I looked at him sleeping. He looked so peaceful, so I decided I would tell him later.

"Okay okay three words, no syllables, and it's a movie," Lily called out as Kayla gave us hints.

We were all at Alex and Lina's house playing charades before Chris and Kayla left to move to Atlanta in a few days, and Grayson and I leave the week after them.

Kayla couldn't stop crying about the fact that we would be apart when I helped her yesterday. I thought she would be dehydrated by how much water she was losing from tears. Chris eventually comforted her enough for me to leave since I had already spent two nights there, and Grayson was missing me as much as Kayla and I would miss each other. I left there feeling empty inside.

Kayla and I have been inseparable for years. We work together, lived together, took trips together, in the same friend group together. We do everything together, and now that would have to come to an end. We were both going our separate ways, but I felt like she was taking a piece of me with her.

"Okay first word," Frank said as Kayla held up one finger.

"Short word," Lina said next. "The," she guessed, but Kayla shook her head no.

"A," Ethan guessed which was a yes.

"Second word," Zaria said once Kayla put two fingers.

Zaria's been spending a lot more time with GFA since her and Ethan came out at the party. They were always together which made sense at all the times they had to remain hidden. They were a cute couple, but they were also that weird couple that you would see in the hallways at school.
