Kayla and I never did get to see a car race that night. Instead, we all went home as the mood was ruined, and no one else could race. One thing that didn't leave my mind from that night was Gabe's words despite it being a few nights ago. It made me think of what did he mean. Did he really mean to say that or did it just slip out? And if he meant it, what did that mean for Lina?
I tried to throw it behind me as Kayla, and I were packing up for Philly. Grayson was out getting more boxes. Everybody else was busy doing whatever, so she was the only available one, but I was happy I got to spend time with her before she left.
We were talking before we got interrupted by her phone ringing. She smiled as it was Chris before answering it. She put it on speaker, so she could continue helping me.
"Hey babe," she said.
"Where are you right now?" He asked pretty altered.
"At Grayson's and Cindy's helping them pack," she paused. "Why?"
"Come home right now."
"Wh-"
"Know what I'll pick you up."
"Chris what's wrong?" She asked in confusion.
I stopped what I was doing also to give my attention to the problem.
"I'll tell you when I see you. I'll call you when I'm there," he said before hanging up.
Kayla looked at her phone before looking at me with confusion.
"What was all that about?" I asked.
"Ion know, but Chris has been more jittery lately because he's been drinking coffee."
I snickered. "Why would he be drinking coffee?"
"I really don't know, but if he keeps actin like this, it's going to drive me fuckin insane."
Sooner rather than later, Kayla got that call from Chris telling her he was outside. She said she'd call me once she found out what was up with him. Just as she was walking out Grayson was walking in with no boxes in with hands and no smile on his face. Kayla didn't even bother to say hi as she was too busy worrying about Chris, but I did say hi to him and he ignored me. I furrowed my brows and followed him into our bathroom.
He was taking off his shirt with his back to me. I walked in and leaned against the wall with my arms crossed. He saw me through the mirror, but never said anything. He just kept changing.
"What's wrong with you?"
"I don't like when there's secrets in my relationship," he said back, but never faced me.
"What're you talkin bout?" I asked now straightening up.
I hope he's not talking about me because I sure as hell am not the one keeping secrets.
"Don't act stupid," he grunted now kicking off his shoes.
"Gray I don't-"
"Why the fuck didn't you tell me you knew Omar?" He spat now facing me.
"Grayson that fight was over two months ago."
"That doesn't answer my question."
I huffed. "I didn't think it was important. Why the fuck are you getting so mad bout it?"
