Hannah's POV~~
The Ducks were getting some new people, not very many of them were happy about getting new people, but I was, new people, new assets. We all gathered on ice waiting for the new kids. Lily stood by me side, her new short hair just barely at her shoulders, Adam on the other side of her.
Mr. Tibbles introduced Luis Mendoza, a fast kid from Miami, he was a good looking skater.
"Only one problem," Mr. Tibbles began, suddenly Luis hit the wall. "He can't stop."
"This is Dwayne Roberson, best puck handler I've ever seen."
"You mean for his age." Coach corrected.
"Nope." Mr. Tibbles replied. Dwayne bounced the puck on his hockey stick and hit his skate a couple times. With that smooth southern accent and those puck skills he must have a girlfriend.
After Mr. Tibbles introduced everyone we started to fight with each other. I yelled at the girl Juile, and I didn't really know why.
Coach broke us up and tied us up. After we skated as one, he let Dwayne lasso us like stray cattle, I beat Luis and was the last person standing and I felt super accomplished.
After practice~~
I roller skated down the street, my Walkman blasting my favorite music. I rounded a street corner and ran right into McGills, otherwise known as McFish, a player on the Hawks. Me and him didn't have a good relationship, ever since we beat his team last year.
A smirk appeared on his face as he realized it was me. I turned around and skated as fast as I could, knowing he was gonna hurt me for breaking his nose last year during the Chamionship game.
McGills was catching up to me, I jumped over several obstacles in my way, he was still gaining on me.
He cornered me.
"H-hey McGills, what's going on?" I stuttered.
"Don't give me any of that crap Bombay." He snapped. He began to inch closer to me, and I backed up until my back hit the wall behind me. He was so close. I was waiting for him to smash his body into mine, but he never did.
Dwayne threw him into a wall, knocking him out. Dwayne offered me his hand and I took it. We skated down the street, leaving McGills in the dust.
"Thanks for saving me."
"No problem."
"How can I ever repay you?" I asked.
"You could go out with me, this Saturday night." He said in his thick Southern accent.
"Sure thing cowboy, see you Saturday." I said before skating off.
Part 2 coming soon.
