Mattie DuChamp looked at the beautiful blonde, blue eyed boy that sat before her. He stared at her, studying the blank expression that flooded her face. The awkward silence was almost unbearable. Mattie blinked. "Dammit! You win! How do you always beat me at staring contests?" Mattie cursed. "I guess I'm just that good." Chris said smirking, pretending to brush dirt of his shoulder. "GO SCREW!" Mattie screeched. "Oh come on, don't do that." Chris said, fake pouting. "I hate you." Mattie snapped. "Oh don't lie you love me." Chris said, crossing his arms. "No I don't!" Mattie argued. Chris groaned, he remembered what his sister Lily had said, "Denile is the first sign of love." He knew she was kidding but he wanted to believe her, he started feeling different about Mattie a couple years ago, and when he slept at night he could only think of her. "Chris? Chris? Anyone home?" Mattie asked, tapping Chris's forehead. "Huh?" Chris questioned, out of it. "Are you okay? You got quiet all the sudden." Mattie replied. "Uh, yeah I'm fine. Sorry, I was just thinking." Chris replied. "About what?" Mattie questioned curiously. "How I could totally kiss you right now.." Chris mumbled. "What?" Mattie asked, startled. "Um... Nothing." Chris covered.
