Waring: attempted suicide | Requested by awesomepanda373

You had depression. You never understood why, but it was undeniable, and you hated yourself for it. How could I? you thought. I have a good life, good job, friends that are my family. I have it all. How can I feel this awful?

After years of therapy and various medications, you'd had enough. You were home alone, your fiance David being off on a case...

~ a few days prior ~

"Are you sure? I can always stay back," David offered.

You shook your head. "No, no. Go save the people. The team needs SSA David Rossi," you said with a joking smile.

"I don't know, y/n/n..."

"I'll be fine! It's just a little cold is all."

Surrendering, David grabbed his bags and leaned down to kiss you. "I'll call you every day, okay?"

"Mmm, I look forward to those calls."

With another quick peck, he was off.

~ present day ~

Little did he know that was the last time he would see you alive.

"Goodbye, David," you whispered to a picture of the two of you. It was from your engagement party. You smiled at the memory.

After a few moments of reminiscing, you throw the gun in your hand up and down lightly, contemplating. "What if he is the reason to stay?" you ponder out loud.

Don't be dim. He doesn't love you! your internal monologue reminds.

"Yes he does," you meekly insist.

Think again! He left so quickly a few days ago on that case.

"Th- that's his job."

Yeah, but he chose it over you. He's no reason to stay.

You fought with yourself a bit more before giving in. Sitting on the living room sofa, you cocked the gun. But instead of pulling the trigger, your finger just twitched. Your hand trembled as it held the gun mere centimeters from your temple.

Frustratedly you screamed. "WHY CAN'T I DO IT??" Sobbing, you added, "it would be the easiest thing in the world. But why can't I do it?"

"Because of what you'll leave behind."

You whipped around in horror to see David standing behind you.

"Y/n, I know you're scared and hurt, but I need you to listen to me. Put the gun down." He walked toward you slowly, fear in his eyes. "Please."

"N- no. No! I'm a burden and I don't know if I can keep doing this!"

"NO!"

In a fraction of a second, David lunged for the gun, shoving your arm slightly just as you fired the gun.

"Y/n/n, please, wake up! Talk to me!"

Blood was flowing from your head, but he couldn't tell how bad the wound really was. Holding his blazer to your head he called an ambulance.
