JJ was anxiously waiting at the airport. "You got the sign you made for Daddy?"

"Yeah!" Henry and Micheal responded. The two were holding a small posterboard with the words "Welcome Home Daddy!" written in puffy paint. JJ had done the writing and tracing. The boys added their own drawings of fighter jets, rockets, and what they insisted was the American flag and most certainly NOT a bunch of colorful squiggles in a vaguely rectangular shape.

"When's Daddy coming home? Micheal whined. "He's been gone for a billion zillion minutes!"

"Really?" JJ asked in fake surprise. "It's been that long?"

"Yeah!"

"Nuh uh!" Henry interjected. "A zillion's not a real number!"

"Yes it is!"

"No 's not!

"It is!"

"Is not!"

"Is too!"

"Is no—"

"Boys," JJ said with her stern mom voice.

"Sorry, Mommy," Henry mumbled.

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to each other for fighting."

"Mikey, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I'm sorry, too."

"Good. Now, Mikey, Hen's right. A zillion isn't a number. Well, not yet, anyway. We haven't found it yet."

"Why not?" the younger boy asked.

"Because we can't count that high."

"I bet I can!" Henry shouted.

"Me too!"

Both boys proceeded to rapidly count as high as they could, not bothering to fully pronounce any of the numbers, and even skipping a few along the way.

JJ shook her head in amusement as she looked up to the escalator. She was just about to ask the boys to quiet down when she saw that pair of green-brown eyes she knew so well.

"Hey, boys. Look who it is."

The boys stopped counting long enough to look up and spot their dad across the room.

"DADDY!" the two screamed, running toward him.

Will dropped to his knees and opened his arms, engulfing his sons.

"I've missed you boys so much."

Will had been deployed for six months. His family never quite knew where he was because he kept moving and, for security purposes, wasn't allowed to tell them where or when he was changing base.

JJ walked over, a huge smile on her face, holding the now forgotten sign.

"Hen, Mikey. You wanna show Daddy your poster?"

"Yeah!" the boys shouted, letting Will go and grabbing the posterboard.

"Whoa, whatcha got there? That's 'mazing guys! Lemme say hi to Mommy real quick."

Will stood up and smiled at JJ. "Been a while, huh?"

JJ nodded. "A billion zillion years, in fact."

"Really?" Will replied in fake bewilderment, never breaking eye contact. "Felt like at least a zillion billion."

JJ stepped forward and pulled Will into a long kiss that was only broken due to two small protestors.

"EWWWWWWWWW!" Henry and Micheal squealed.

JJ and Will laughed, each picking up one child and heading out toward the car.

"I love you guys," Will said through the biggest smile he'd had in a while.
