This looks TERRIBLE compared to other artists.... where did I screw up? I can't use a base, that's just WRONG I'll never be as good as everyone else.... :( :,( Because it looks so different from other artists I MUST HAVE screwed up somewhere.... I mean look at this!

Fourth wall breaking.. but getting to the point, it's not bad.. especially if your using it for learning purposes, most artist will take bases and form a style with them and learn! Putting that aside... maybe.... you need to practice being terrible before you practice being good, because who said you can't draw?
