Scorpius's POV
"Are we there yet?" Reya asked excitedly
"Almost." We were walking hand in hand through the forbidden forest. I'd planned a picnic in a clearing up ahead.
"Are you sure? It's really dark, how can you tell where your going?"
"My dad used to take me here a lot, he said it was the best place for exploring."
"Speaking of your dad, when am I going to get to meet your parents?"
"Errr...... I don't know.... When can I meet yours?"
She turned around to face me "Why don't you want me to meet your parents?"
"I never said-"
She cut me off putting her hands on her hips she looked me in the eyes "Why don't you want me to meet your parents?" She asked again
"It's not that I don't want you too, just.... They can be a bit judge mental."
"Because I'm a half-blood."
"Well... It's my mom mainly, my dad's gotten a lot better...."
"Have you even told them about me?!" She asks, her voice rising
"I- well...... No. I'm sorry I just-"
"I can't believe you! Am I not good enough for you?! Are you embarrassed of me?! To embarrassed to tell your parents about me?!"
" No! Reya, that's so NOT it!! You just... I don't want you to get hurt because of my parents... They can get pretty bad. It's my parents I'm embarrassed about!" I reply shaking my head.
"I still can't believe you didn't say anything at all to them. They don't even know you have a girlfriend at all do they."
" Well.... " I looks at his feet and shrugs lightly. " If I told them they would ask me a lot of questions. Is she a pure-blood? Is she proper? Sophisticated? What's she like? Is she friends with mud bloods? Half bloods?" I looks into her eyes and she takes my hands. " I'm sorry, Reya... "
"Guess I'm never going to meet them, I don't really pass the standards..."
" That doesn't matter. You pass my standards. That's all that matters. " I look down into her bright blue eyes. " Ok? If you really want to meet them... You can.. I'm just warning you..."
"I dunno, I kind of want to, I'm not really sure why."
" You can if you really want to. I'll write to them later... But right now... Let's think about us ok? Not them. "
She smiles "Okay, but why are we here again? In the middle of the woods? Getting eaten alive by bugs?"
I just grab her hand, leading her a bit farther into a large clearing with a huge tree that stretched up into the sky. The sun was slowly going down, but still cast some light into the clearing here, no trees blocked it out. I had hung a swing from one of the large branches. A small table was sitting under the tree. There was a vase of flowers and picnic basket sitting near. And small lights hung over head, twinkling against the almost dark sky.
"Oh my gosh."
Had I over done it?
"I love it! It's beautiful!"
Guess not.
"Did you do all this? It looks amazing!"
I just smiled sheepishly and pulled the chair out for her to sit
"What's on the menu?" She asked grinning
"Well, the house elves don't like me, and I can't cook so...." I pulled out two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
