Logan's POV

"Logan!!! You are so dead!" Matt yells

Oh man

"Hey Matt....."

" DON'T YOU FREAKIN' 'HEY MATT' ME!! WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU TELL RILEY THAT I LIKE HER?! I TOLD YOU TO KEEP YOUR FREAKING MOUTH SHUT! "

"My mouth doesn't like to stay shut though."

Matthew pushes me up against the wall with his arm against my chest, holding me up. " You ruined EVERYTHING, LOGAN! "

"Actually, I helped you out." I push him away and step away from the wall

" No, you actually didn't! She is afraid to talk to me now!!! She probably thinks I'm going to kiss her out of no where, thanks to you!! "

"No she's not. She's probably upset that you didn't tell her, and that I had to tell her.

" YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO FREAKING TELL HER!!! YOU CHOSE TO!! " He yells. " Thank you, for showing me that I can't trust you to keep a damn secret."

"I told Ruby I liked her and we're together... Well, sorta. So it's better to tell her and risk rejection than never telling her at all."

" I don't give a crap!!!! Stop butting into my freaking life! Get your own! "

"Calm down Matt, it's not that big of a deal."

" You have no idea. " He walks off, probably to cool off.

Okay then.... I mean I knew he would be mad, but not that mad.

"Hey Ruby!" I call out to her. She walks over slowly

"Hey."

I slip my arm around her shoulders "Are you okay? You seem all jumpy lately."

She takes my arms off her shoulders and turns to face me.

"Yeah, I'm fine but I, I gotta go."

"Are you avoiding me?" I ask her as she starts walking away.

Turning back to face me she replies "No, I just... Logan, I.... Never mind, I gotta go." With that she bounces down the stairs, leaving me alone to wonder what she meant.

Ruby's POV

The astronomy tower is raised up into the clouds, its always peaceful there, making it a perfect place to think and to be alone. I'm sitting high up on a stool, my legs swinging in time to the music that's blasting from my phones speakers. The song blended into the background as I close my eyes. My mind kept wandering back to detention earlier. I don't know what to think. My emotions are tangled up and my heart is in a knot. I'm just now realizing I don't know Logan. We were friends, but we were never really close. Noah on the other hand had always been there for me. We were always friends, but me cheating on him ruined that. I couldn't help wonder if he was thinking about me too. Probably not, I did cheat on him. I wouldn't be ready to forgive so soon if he were in my shoes. Wait, didn't Riley say she saw him kissing someone else too? I guess were even then. The wind blows through the balcony, ruffling my hair and sending a shiver down my spine.
I hop down from the stool and lean over the balcony. I wonder what it would be like to jump. To feel the wind whistling through my long black hair. Feeling the world slow down as you drop through the empty air. Swirling through the wind, plummeting towards the earth. And when you finally reach the ground, all your worries are gone. Your finally rid of the suffocating pressure that was on your shoulders. You aren't judged on every move you make anymore. No one will blame you for all the accidents you've caused, all the hardships you created. They'll miss you. They'll apologize to your memory for ever thinking those terrible thoughts about you. Your free, no longer a monster. But also all alone. When I snap out of my trance I find I'm leaning farther off the balcony. I stumble back startled at my thoughts, knocking the stool over. I trip over the chair leg and smack down onto the cold floor. A tear slips down my cheek. I'm afraid. I wrap my arms around my knees and curl up on the floor.

I walk along the lake staring ahead of me. The wind whistles as the leaves dance in the air. My headphones were in my ears as music filled them.

I get so caught up I don't even realize that I'm singing along hitting each an every note. After I finish I let out a breath. I stare into the water wondering what I did to deserve this. My life.

My mom cheating on my dad, figuring out that my best friend liked me, all of this? It's only two things but.... They are both very big and will be hard to deal with.
