She was not ready to face him. She longed for him since the day he left yet now that he was only an inch away, she could not bring herself to see him.

It has been a while and a lot has changed between the both of them. She wandered alone, in the hopes of finding him but her journey towards him was taking her farther and she haven't realized that up until now.

Now that she can reach him by a simple stretch of her arm, she felt farther from him than she ever did in the years that she spent looking.

The person that she longed for the most felt like a stranger to her now. Its as if time has burned down and not even one can inch the gap that life has created between them.

She saw him eating strawberries; the fruit that she'd often feed him back when they were toddlers. It was a weird feeling for her. She still remembered every inch of him; all of his likes and dislikes; all that shaped him yet she cannot bring herself to meet him.

She hid herself at the top of the tree that Hayabusa was resting on and she was debating whether or not to take a peek on him. For her, even seeing a tiny part of him, could send her heart haywire; in an endless, restless ruckus.

He knew that he saw Kagura but now, he was having doubts. What if he just misses her too much that he ended up imagining things? But who the hell could imagine things like that?

He heard Kagura's voice, he was certain of it but where is she now? Not a trace of her was evident; its as if she were never even in the grounds where he stepped. Its as if she was a ghost.

Hayabusa stood up and continued his trip home. He could not afford any distractions. He needs to return to the quarters before the next sunrise.

Kagura could wait, he thought.

From her vantage point, she saw him suddenly leaving. She panicked, what if she'll never see him again? What if... she took a deep sigh.

"If Hayabusa and I are meant for each other, we will meet again. No matter what the circumstance, but if we won't, then I'll just have to live life without him, spend my days thinking why we came to know each other's existence yet why, we weren't meant to be." She thought to herself, tears brimming on her eyes.

"Hayabusa!" She shouted as loudly as she can. Her heart betrayed her mind. Her logic of love was stepped on by the longing of her heart, by its subtle, yet intense whispers.

He heard her voice again. It was loud and clear. She was calling for him, she was calling his name.

He looked behind him and painstakingly saw no one.

He slapped himself and closed his eyes tight. He massaged his ears and decided to go home, this time not minding any distraction.

With all her might, she stopped herself from running to him and showing herself. With all of her, she restricted herself from holding the love of her life.

She has issues and she wants to be with him, someday when the scars of the past won't cling to her anymore.

With all her heart, she wanted to be with him; she wanted to hold him close and do things just like they did before, she wanted to cuddle him so tight, he'd gasp for air.

She wanted him badly but for now, with the gentle wind wending in the space between them and with the silence of their longing hearts, she decided to let him walk away.
