"Hey, Nana. Wake up! We need to start moving again. I'm not getting any thinner here." Akai grumbled, nudging his little sister by the waist.

Nana only purred softly and went back to sleep. Akai was honestly hungry and he couldn't wait for his sister to fetch his meal, his breakfast rather.

They settled under a vine that somewhat formed a cave, for the night. It was actually a nice place and it effectively concealed them. And now as the rays of the sun pierced through the little gaps left by the leaves that haven't intertwined, Akai's hunger grew more intense.

He was almost ready to poke Nana on the waist when he suddenly caught a glimpse of the cat elf's peaceful face. Its eyes were closed, eyelids relaxed. Its nose fan and flared everytine it took a breath, her gentle breaths heard when he listened close; her lips were so tiny, so pink that he remembered those tiny carnation flowers that they passed through during their journey. Akai realized that he was very lucky to have found Nana and that they became siblings. He couldn't imagine himself without his mischievous sister in trailing behind him.

Nana was feline, almost gentle-looking when she slept and she was beyond fiesty when she was utterly conscious.

Akai released a tensed sigh and decided to hunt for his food all by himself.

He parted the dangling vines that covered the entrance of their makeshift cave and thrusted himself out.

As he got out, he saw watermelons from a nearby vineyard. He saw that they were ripe and were ready to harvest. He traipsed his way to the vineyard, picked out two and brought it back to their hiding place.

As he entered their "vine cave", Nana was nowhere in sight. And he saw droplets of blood on the ground.

With racing thoughts and a heavy heart, he dropped the watermelons that he was carrying and went outside to look for Nana.

I would rather remind you readers that this story is character-driven rather than being based on a plot. If I mentioned before that I had all things planned out, yes I do have all of it planned out but the things in between are the ones that will be determined when I write a certain chapter.

Anyway, I hope your support will never waver.

Always,
