The confused Yun Zhao rushed to the king’s aide when he saw him collapse unto his bed once more. Miya also ran to her brother’s side and touched his forehead.

“I guess he is okay but I think his body is still weak and traumatized from what has happened.” Miya said, eyeing the warrior beside her cautiously.

Yun Zhao flashed a warm smile and patted Miya’s shoulder: “It’s okay my lady. He’ll recover fast. With you by his side, he feels safer than ever.” He replied.

“Anyway, I’m sorry if he shouted at you. Maybe he has mistaken you for someone else. A former foe perhaps.” Miya uttered, trying her best not to make the situation awkward and tensed as it is.

Miya darted her eyes to her sleeping brother. His face was all scrunched and tensed; as if he was having nightmares as he slept.

She could only hope that his brother would get well in due time for their kingdom is in dire need of a king; their kingdom needs a whole lot of repairing from the damage the orcs has caused.

Yun Zhao gave Miya a reassuring smile as he headed for the door to give some room for the siblings. “I’ll be heading out, my lady. I’ll be roaming around the kingdom to check on the people.” He said, gripping the doorknob of the metal door that led to the other side of the building.

The moon elf responded with a nod as she quietly hid her blushing cheeks from the warrior by turning her back against him.
When Yun Zhao got out of the door, he headed for the main exit and traipsed his way towards the city.

Moonexus was breathtaking even when in ruins. He saw blue gems stuck to walls even when they have already crumbled; the light of day equally illuminating the remains of it.

He found himself standing beside a mob of moon elves, as they huddled and rushed to and fro, collecting the shards of a fallen home.

“Do you need help?” He said to a lady moon elf; he saw that the lady had trouble carrying a wad of bricks. Without waiting for the elf to respond, he snatched the concrete material from the elf’s hands. The lady was shocked at first but then she gave out a smile as soon as she saw Yun Zhao’s warm eyes and sincere smile.

“Thank you for the help, sire. May I know your name?” the lady elf asked, attracting her other companions to listen to the conversation that she and the warrior was having.

“I am Yun Zhao. The son of the Great Dragon. I am here to help you repair your fallen land.” He said with pride and determination evident in his voice.

The elves around him marveled and were left in awe as they looked at the lean and brave warrior in front of them.

Yun Zhao smiled when he saw the moon elves’ reaction to his answer. He was more than honored to save Moonexus. He was more than honored to help the people whom the king and Miya was ruling over.

He was glad to help.

As the day went by, he helped the elves rebuild their homes. He went to and fro the forest to gather some woods with the male elves and some wizards. Once, he even had to change himself to his dragon form because he couldn’t reach the top of a certain building with his regular form.

The elves were once again amazed.

A little elf then suddenly went in front of Yun Zhao and asked: “Mister, mister!” It called to him with utter curiosity and with an adorable voice. He turned his head and bent down to level his gaze with the child elf.

“Yes, little one?” he replied, taking the child’s minute hand on his palm.

“Are you here to teach us fight the evil orcs? Teach us! Pwease! Pwease! Pwease!” the child said, jumping and frolicking around Yun Zhao. The warrior mustered out an unexpected smile as he played along with the little moon elf.

“Yes, little one. I am here to teach you and your friends to defend yourselves. I am here to train you, to make you all stronger.” He said, with a fiery determination. The child elf replied a smile and tugged at Yun Zhao’s left arm. The child dragged him to a makeshift stone pillar that was near the castle.

The pillar had a sack clothing for its roof; its door was a thin piece of wood that had a latch on the side. “Mister, here is my father. He was wounded during the war. Can you make him strong again?.” The child elf said, with hope welling on its eyes.

Yun Zhao couldn’t help but feel pitiful with the sight looming in front of him. The father of the moon elf child was sprawled on its bed; its abdomen slightly lacerated. The elf’s eyes were heavily bruised and its face, full of scars— scratches.

The warrior couldn’t help but sigh, the kind that’s deep and full of sympathy. He clutched the child’s hand as he said: “I will help you, little one. I will help all of you. Just let me. Just give me a chance.”

The elves’ faces were full of hope and determination; their hearts full and burning for redemption—all because of Yun Zhao’s words.
From a distance, in the king’s room, was Miya staring out at the window; gazing at her people and how Yun Zhao catered to their needs.
She couldn’t begin to imagine how blessed their kingdom was to have him.

Out of all the kingdoms that has fallen to war and hopelessness, Moonexus was the recipient of Yun Zhao’s assistance.

She couldn’t help but smile remembering her and Yun Zhao’s first meeting. It was an awkward bout but well, it led them to where they are today.

Miya turned her head to check on his brother, and once again he was still fast asleep. She decided to leave him for a while and go out of the castle to stand beside Yun Zhao.

Maybe Yun Zhao was the best thing that happened to their kingdom; or maybe he was the best thing that happened to her. But she just wouldn’t dare admit it.
