Exhausted and unable to keep up with his companion's pace, Gord hopped off of his mystic hovering board. Despite being spared from all the walking, he found himself tired to the bones.

"Hey Eudodo, Eudoba, Eudidi, Eupopo. I don't care about your name, it's so freaking hard to remember! Can we stop for a bit?" Gord chanted, frustrated and tired.

Eudora could only laugh internally as she halted her pace and looked behind her. He was a mess. He looked extremely fatigued. She went to his side and poked him lightly.

"It's funny. You're such a weakling, Gord. Oh well, come, let us sit and take a brief rest." She said, motioning Gord to a nearby rock.

"And by the way, it's Eudora. Not Eudodo, Eudoba, Eudidi and definitely not Eupopo! How repugnant of you to make fun of my awesome name!" She shouted at him, releasing a tiny bolt of lighting, hitting Gord on his left leg.

Gord flinched and fell to the ground. His body twisted and turned, determined to get rid of all the lightning charges that engulfed his system. Eudora's bolts cannot harm him, in fact the zap just gives him a good tickle, but it never hurt to prank his mage companion even just this once.

Eudora could only laugh as she watched the poor mage shake beyond comprehension. His body convulsed as if unable to handle the magic she casted upon to him.

Gord kept his face hidden the whole time he commenced his act. He was holding his laughter that it started to hurt his stomach.

Tired of his ruse, Gord relaxed his body and pretended to go limp. He even let his tongue dangle out of his mouth to somehow complement his "death".

For a brief moment, only the gentle wending of the wind across the vast forest can be heard. Eudora stared at the motionless body before her, racking her thoughts for ways on how to revive him.

She did not mean to hurt him. She was just taunting him.

And then, suddenly without a word of earning or a flicker of foreboding, a wave of memories came crashing to her thoughts. She can vividly remember how she burned her village down to rubble, to ashes because she was overwhelmed and lost control of her powers.

She was a strong mage even at a young age and that led to the demise of the place she called her home.

Gord wondered what was happening to Eudodo. She suddenly fell silent. Although he could not see her expression, he knew that she was in deep thought, almost seeming that she is drowning in the intensity of her thinking.

He opened his eyes and he was right. Eudora was staring off space, almost unaware of where she was. He hurriedly got up and shook her shoulders vigoriously.

He didn't get a word from her, instead, a steady stream of tears leaked out from Eudora's eyes.

Not knowing what to do, he cupped her face in his arms and crashed his lips unto hers.

And only the wending of the wind can be heard again.
