Re-Christmas Part 2

===Conner===
Kate, Jean, and Angie came over, and our Christmas party began.
In awkward silence.

Our kids were upstairs, playing with their gifts.
But the adults were down here, sitting in awkward silence, as the men who almost had sex last night set up brunch in the dining room.

I really wanted to have Justin to myself.
But he still had his boyfriend, Ken. Yippee.
I don't get it. I was straight, but now, Justin's the only person on my mind.
I think it's because of what everyone's doing to get us together.

At brunch, everything was going great.
Until I blew it.
"Hey, Conner. Can you pass the sausages?" Justin said.
"Oh, now you want the sausage! Even after pushed me off last night. Well guess what? You're not not getting any sauseage!"
I stormed out, leaving 5 adults and 6 children with their eyes wide and their jaws hanging open.

I was in my bedroom, trying to clear my head, when Chase and Kate came in.
"What's going on?" Chase asked.
"Nothing."
They got on the bed with me.
"Conner... when did you first realize you were attracted to Justin?" Kate asked. She's smart. No wonder she's a lawyer.
"Okay. There's something we never told you guys."

===Flashback: 12 years ago===
It was spring break, during our senior year of high school.
We rented a cabin upstate by Lake of the Woods.
One night, Justin and I were watching a movie on the cabin's TV. I fell asleep.
A few minutes later, I woke up to find Justin kissing my neck.

"Justin?"
He pulled off of me.
"Conner. I didn't realize you were awake."
"I wasn't."
"Oh God. I am such an idiot. It would never happen with you. You're straight."

Before I could say anything, he got up and went to his bedroom.
I just sat there, trying to figure it all out.

===Present===
"Figure what out?" Kate asked.
"Why I felt good when Justin kissed me."

Later, I was cleaning up the living room, when Justin came in.
"I just got off the phone with Ken."
"Hm."
"I broke up with him."
I spun around and looked at him.
"On Christmas? Why?"
"Kate told us what you said to her and Chase."
"Oh. Well..."
Justin wrapped his arms around me.
"I love you, Conner."
"I love you too, Justin."

Finally. After 12 years for me, and 16 years for him, we're finally with the person we want to be with.

===Kate===
I was in my apartment, a few days after Christmas, when Chase called.
"Hey Chase."
"Hey Kate. Listen. I know we agreed to just be friends, but I don't want to just be friends. Do you want to go out New Year's Eve?"
I didn't know what to say.
"Sure."
Okay, maybe I did.
