Chapter One

If you see several updates, it's because Wattpad is messing with my chapter...

I waited until Jayce left the house. Being a middle sized pack, he sometimes has to go into the town or several hamlets that are situated on the outskirts of this pack; The Auburn Pack.

We are bordered by four other packs. To the North is a small sized pack, my brother Logan's pack, The Silver Valley pack. To the west is Alpha Kolton's pack, The Obsidian pack. To the East, we have The Blue Water pack which is headed by Alpha Brian although apparently, his son Kian is set to take over his pack soon.

Alpha Kolton and Alpha Brian's packs are also middle sized packs like Jayce's. They are classified as middle sized because the area that people live in, isn't small but also, not big enough to be called enormous like the large packs that border the coast and also the population isn't as large. Five packs make up the middle sized packs.

From what I know though, Alpha Brian's pack is quite strange. Extremely traditional too and everyone is dressed in medieval clothes. It's a very cultured pack and not one I would like to visit although I have heard that it is quite beautiful and the skies aren't bluer in any other pack because of the lack of environmental pollution or something. Not that I quite understand how the two even connect.

There are also two large packs that border Jayce's pack though, the first is the Crystal Heart Pack which is headed by Alpha Jacob in the south. His son Ronan is also set to take over soon, awaiting his marriage. Then the Sapphire Pack headed by Alpha Damien in the south-east. The Sapphire Pack is the fourth large pack of the fifteen packs, followed by the Crystal Heart Pack which is the third largest pack.

They are only smaller than Alpha Maddox's pack; Goldstone Pack and Alpha Kai's Pack; Shadow Night Pack which although the most famous is unfortunately smaller than the former.

It has always been said that if you ever wanted to run away, Alpha Kai's pack is the place to go.

Right now, I am seriously considering that.

I don't know why I know so much about all the fifteen packs and their Alphas but I do. I always found Pack knowledge interesting. Being an Alpha's daughter, I was educated alongside my half-brother Logan and where he found Pack knowledge boring, I found it quite interesting and extremely intriguing.

Is it strange that I seriously want to kill my half-brother?

I know we aren't the best of friends but selling your sister in exchange for men to invade someone else's pack is a low blow even if the person he sold me to was my mate!

I wanted a courtship. I wanted to be wooed. Okay, well my mother never got that so yes, I wanted that! But no! Logan thinks it's fine to sell me to my Alpha mate because he's desperate to terrorise due to his broken pride.

My mother was a maid in my pack. A one night stand with the Alpha resulted in me; Mikayla Marie Hade. I happen to be Alpha Aaron's greatest indiscretion and regret.

My father hated me. He hated me so much that he named me Marie because one of the variant meanings of Marie is 'bitter' and he said he hoped my life would be as bitter if not more bitter than the way I made his own life bitter by existing.

He got his wish.

My life really sucks.

My father's wife and Logan's mother, Jane didn't like me as well. She tried to hide it though. She forced a smile when she could, talked to me in an even tone and gave me dresses on my birthday but she never tried harder than that. I don't hold anything against her though because I was the child her husband had from an affair while married to her.
