I drink in Alpha Kai's appearance with precaution, my hand suddenly tightening around the door handle as I gulp dreadfully at the implication of Alpha Kai's visit.

His eyes are stoic, the navy blue in then leaning towards black but for some reason, they are undecided between dark blue and black and just settling for navy blue.

His skin is tanned to perfection and the brown of his hair is in the exact predicament as the blue of his eyes. It is unable to decide between black and brown and instead, settling for a rustic dark brown colour that by the way a bulk of it is tousled perfectly to right side of his head simply exudes an air of importance. An air of regality.

His suit is pitch black and his neck lacks a tie, successfully showing off the upper part of his chest. How does someone manage to look so youthful and  so formal at the same time? So daunting, yet so appealing? I've been around a few Alphas in my life but I have to say, no one emanates Alpha-aura more than this man.

"Mikayla Marie Hade." Alpha Kai finally speaks, my name rolling off his tongue like classical music, beautiful yet incomprehensible. He tilts his head to the side as if to get a better look at me and I feel his eyes burn into my skin.

How does he even know my full name?

I have only met this man once before. Two years ago when he came to meet my father and he was quite intimidating. I think it's safe to say that he has stepped the intimidation factor up a couple notches.

Alpha Kai is one of the most, if not the most famous Alpha. He hails from the Shadow Night Pack. A pack filled with runaways and women of the night. I don't think you can make money in any pack quicker than you can in his.

He is incredibly powerful and when he wants something, he doesn't stop until he gets it. And that is exactly what has almost everyone afraid of him. Exactly what accompanies the shudders when you say his name. It doesn't help that his pack is the second largest of the fifteen packs, only second to Alpha Maddox's pack; the Goldstone Pack.

For all I know, Alpha Kai could be here to tell me he wants me or something and he would find a way to coerce me into agreeing. He is that powerful and borderline manipulative. I'm just glad the huge problem of the Assassins that terrorises his pack keeps him busy. Well, on second thought, maybe not, considering he stands before me right now.

"Alpha Kai." I finally say in a drawl, trying my best to match his glare. I'm an Alpha's daughter, I shouldn't shy away from a man's gaze. No matter how unnerving this said man is.

"I'm here to see Logan." He quips, his low voice sounding uninterested more than anything "Your brother."

I turn to look back at Logan, his eyes are on me and by the way he looks at me, I can tell that he knows who is here. He has already smelt him most likely. Logan's face looks disturbed.

"Let him in." Logan tells me before turning away from me, most likely to regain his composure. And so I do. With a small stride, I step to the side and Alpha Kai enters.

His steps are menacing and with each one he takes, I feel tension invade the air. He stands before my brother at the same time I close the door, realising that my knuckles are slightly stiff from how hard I have been clutching on to the handle.

"Alpha Logan." Alpha Kai drawls, disdain heavy in his voice and Logan stands up. Logan tries to match his glare but fails and I see something clear as day written on Logan's face; worry.

"Kai." Logan resounds , jaw clenched as he says "What brings you here?"

"Several things." Alpha Kai answers, his face as blank as a canvas as he strides towards the couch opposite Logan and I. He sits down without invitation, back straight and form rigid when he says "I've been watching you Logan."
