Matthew's dark eyes stilled me to my spot, the rain splattering hard against me. I stood there, staring at him, my will to shift seeping out of my veins when he walks towards me.

I gauge his intentions with my eyes as my heartbeat pounds against my chest. The petrichor hid Matthew's smell from me just a bit but not enough.

When he stood before me, I looked up at him. The rain beat us harder. He pushed his wet dark hair back and I finally let out the breath that I didn't even know I was holding. His clothes clung to his skin like mine did to mine. The rain is relentless.

When I tried to turn away, he held my arm.

"Kay, please," he pleads, only letting go of me once I am turned towards him once more. "At least let's talk."

"No," I say sternly, trying to get away but Matthew doesn't relent as he pulls me more into him until my back is trapped by his chest. He wraps his arms around me and I am stuck there, struggling weakly. "Let me go, Matthew."

"I need to hold you, Kay," he says softly against my right ear. His voice is pleading and it tickles me. "I need to feel your skin against mine just one more time. I've lost my mind and everything I am without you. Let me hold you, Kay,"

"Stop this madness!" I try to struggle but he only holds me tighter. We struggle, our wills being tested but I am no match for him as his strength overpowers mine. He hits the bark of a large tree but doesn't release me. I exhale in exhaustion, tired of fighting while the rain pours down. The canopy of the tree's branches shields us from the relentlessness of the rain but not completely and definitely not enough.

Our clothes are soaked and my damp toes curl themselves into the wet earth. Matthew is heavy against me and his scent now overwhelms me, my pulse racing as my belly gets pregnant with indescribable emotions. One part of me doesn't want Matthew to let me go and the other wants to rip him to shreds for even daring to touch me.

I struggle again.

"Matthew, get off me! This is harassment. What is your problem?" I struggle harder, twisting, turning and thrashing. Each movement of mine is stronger than the last until I hear my top rip. I ignore it. "How many times have I told you to stay away from me?"

In the process of struggling, Matthew turns me over until my back smacks against the tree. I punch his chest but he doesn't stop me. I hit it several times, Rae growling beneath me but not once does he make a move to stop me from hitting him. Instead, he just stands there until I tire out.

When I do, I hit his chest one last time and pull back to let the tree properly support me. It's still raining but not as hard. Matthew's dark eyes are surveying my face with interest.

"Why are you so relentless, Matthew? Don't you understand that I don't want you? Don't you-"

I'm cut off when his index finger grazes my face, tracing my features. His finger tickles my skin and I flinch exiguously.

"You're so beautiful-" he praises, his eyes refusing to meet my eyes when he comes closer, his finger reaching the border of my jaw.

"Your soul is so evil!" I spit back and his eyes meet mine now. The sadness in them is indrawn. I don't care.

"I can't go on living without you anymore, Kay. I can't do it-"

"Then die!" I scream at him. "No one would miss you,"

His body stiffens at the impact of my words and I stare straight into his eyes. He stares back. His dark eyes are glossy and his face slacks to emphasise his guilt. He opens his mouth to speak but doesn't and I stand there wondering why his words are stuck in his throat. He wasn't silent when he shoved me down the stairs.
